Yah no visual diffrent.. i watch news scrolling and a rocket blowing up at 2000bit rate.. looked fine..i guess ill save some space.
Tho the space amount wasnt that big of a diffrence either.. and i have yet to see a SUPER action scene.. or something that can freeze up 2000 ( im still watching in 2000 also) i think i might just lower it a tad.
Anyhow back to audio .. is there a soundcard that you can enhance audio before it gets to you? where you can change volume on your desktop and speakers?

I would try settings like 7000 and 2000 instead and compare (the 12000 may have not gievn you real results...there shoudl be more of noticable size differene). Maybe do a 2min recording. I would even try a 500, just to make sure you're actually setting it and seeing it (at 500, it should look blocky).

My soundcard is only used for the optical out cabel, and doesn't do anything to the sound at all. Any sound handling is done by the pvr-150 or the Intervideo decoders. The ffdshow post-processing isn't part of the capture I think, and you wouldn't hear how the receiver handles it in the recording.

There is a way for the pvr-150 card. I don't know about yours. Maybe someone else knows, or you can search for a support/fourm for your make/model.

If you do our next 30min recording at 2000 and the file size is > 1Gb, then your settings didn't change. If it's much lower (like < 600-800Mb) and looks good, then you're good to go.
