Yeah but video quality probably would have suffered. Plus, the machine started life as a Celeron 400. That's why I bought the PVR-350. And the interface would still be slow because of the way GB-PVR does the OSD.

Yeah, the GDI+ libraries used to do the interface are very capable but pretty slow on slow machines. I'm not really sure how all the celerons compare, but I've always found a 1GHz PIII class CPU or higher to give good performance. If celerons had poor floating point performance compared to a PIII, then you'd probably get a pretty shitty user interface experience.

The Celeron I am running is the same core as a Coppermine PIII. The only difference is the celeron has 1/2 the L2 cache, at 128k. It's the same 100MHz FSB. The Taulatin core PIII (offered up to 1.4GHz, IIRC) probably offers decent performance because of the 512k cache and things like improved branch prediction and what not...

Mines a 1.2GHz Tualatin PIII, 512MB RAM. Goes quite OK. Not brilliant, but OK. PVR-150.
