Does your version have an 'export recordings' feature in the config app? If so, that file should be able to be used with the 'import recordings' feature of the new releases.

Alternatively, there are some utilities on the wiki that can read the file meta data and recreate the recording entries for you.

Yep, sounds like a winner then. As long as I can export/import I'll be ok.

Probably should redo the scheduling anyway Wink

Thanks! I'll give it a go in the next few days.

i noticed in fullscreen mode my tray icons show up when clicking for a blink..
[won't happen on non-primary desktop monitor tho, no tray there]

sub Wrote:In general FSE is still pretty "experimental", but should be ok for those with dedicated setups where they're not trying use mouse etc.

I was having big tearing with VMR9 Custom renderer; with the FSE 'experiment', tearing has disappeared! but my tray icons are blinking too as pBS's one... I solve this with the 'Alt+tab hacking'.

Appreciate it's still experimental so this is probably one for the bugs list rather than something with an easy solution!:

I am having an issue using FSE in combination with hibernate in that, once the computer is woken up from hibernate, instead of seeing the GB-PVR screen I see the windows desktop with GBPVR minimised to the taskbar.

If I click on it in the taskbar then it appears to maximise but is invisible, such that I lose the ability to click on anything on the desktop but at the same time can't see the GB-PVR menu so can't do anything with it either. Only solution seems to be a restart each time.

Any ideas/anyone else getting this behaviour?

I realize that the patches in the survival thread do not derectly address your problems, but they are related both to hibernation wake up problems and FSE. Did you apply them? Otherwise that would probably be a good idea - maybe they fix problems not even known by sub yet Wink

Just wanted to say thanks for adding in the advanced BDA settings. This has allowed me to scan and tune into one elusive UK DVB channel "E4" from the South East Bluebell Hill transmitter. Have not been able to receive this one channel for the last couple of releases on either of my two GBPVR media pc's but now with the new advanced BDA setting options, I can. Magic. I have donated before and will be doing so again shortly. Keep up the great work you are doing Sub. What would we do without you.

I've read a few threads but only got bits and pieces of answers, and hopefully sub can settle this once and for all.

I want to upgrade my GBPVR to the most current release. What steps do I need to take to make sure that I do not have to re-do all my settings, all my add-ons, etc?

In theory you just download and run the GBPVR09912.msi file and it'll automatically retain all your settings. Its pretty reliable with very few people ever encountering problems doing this.

I always recommend people backup their config.xml and gbpvr.db3 in case something goes wrong, but usually it'll go smoothly and these backup files will not be required.

That said, the only setting that isnt retained in this current upgrade is changes you've made to <CustomFFmpegConversions> in config.xml. I've purposely reset this setting to the defaults during this release to correct a problem some users have in their settings from a past release.
