How does the system KNOW they go for longer? My recordings schedule a time slot based on NEWA Auto record.
In the US/Canada do they dynamically change the end time? If you have an EPG update for me it's only 1x per day - so system doesn't change immediately?

It's not the the EPG it looks at sports web sites with live updates. For example there is a baseball playoff game on now it just checked and noted it was still going on past the 11:00 pm scheduled end

Quote:This sounds a bit like the GBPVR plugin XRECORD (I think it was) from many many moons ago that had an option for Priority recordings (which I miss).
THIS I would really like to see make a return i.e. Sports Take Priority... :-)

You can make recurring records take priority with NextPVR but not genres. Conflict resolution would show sports.

PS I was just was watching the umbrellas on the news thinking of you.

Cheers

Is there a priority tab in NEWA as I use that exclusively to schedule my recordings. I can ask UJB if not.
Yeah, the folks here are pretty pragmatic that way. Last night it rained and they were put to more traditional use :-).

Don't want to take this OT with the NEWA questions so just ask in UJB's forum.

Extending that baseball game worked well, the game went almost two hours long and it stopped nicely at the end.

I've upload the one I use just in case I changed something. One thing it does is give an option --skip to not extend the recording if the game goes past the end of the original show.

Thanks for helping!

Pretty much the same here but mine was 19 minutes. I definitely am going to change the default for --postgame to 10 minutes from 5.

I understand restricting the list while testing, but how might this work for a release? All sports, a user-selected list, or fully programmable, i.e., ANY event that might run over?

It's not a testing restriction, where on the web could anyone check to see that a live show like the Academy Awards is running long? I suppose a social networking service could be set up where the user community do this but why would someone watching live want to bother and how much would you trust that someone would? For these one-off kind of shows it seems safer to just add an hour or so.

Is this "default for --postgame" from your prg of whatever I have for the show after the game?

Thanks
