Quote:Wow, that's great!!! So I can create special icons for any of my virtual roots? As long as I pick the folder type for the virtual root? That basicly allows you to create whatever root type you want. Correct? Or at least make it look like any type you want. Your just full of good ideas. Don't get me wrong I like seeing the thumbnail on the photo but if you have lots of items in the virtual root they all look the same. I like having an icon as a quick way to tell them apart.
im going to make it for any file type (well not webimages or images, but for any folder/directory/drive etc type, if "override.png/jpg/gif" (in that order) are found it will use that image.

I tried it again last night. I was doing random slide show from thousands of pics. It seemed to work well. The only pain was when a picture came up rotated, I couldn't pause it to rotate it to the correct way.

my pics 3 alpha 4 (yeah still alpha, i forgot about playlists, still not sure how to do those)

- animated gif support for well everything, webimages, slideshows, normal pics, just not in preview mode (ie only support for them in fullscreen).
- popup menu, which has options for "copy" which will copy the directory (pretty sure it only works for directories, i havent done any bug testing here, been to busy) to a defined directory, eg i want to copy F:\holidaypics to my predifened directory, C:\docs and settings\.....\my pictures, it will copy the entire folder to
C:\docs and settings\.....\my pictures\holidaypics
the copy progress shows which file is currently being copied, and once done, it says how many files were copied and to where.
- fixed the bug where you couldnt rotate an image in random mode.

i havent done a hell of a lot of bug testing in this version, i just wanted to get the animated gif support out there, there will be a few bugs in this version

I think I found another 'bug'. I have the width set to 110%, all pictures seem to look good. I haven't really tested different 'shaped' pictures, but what I have looked at all seem right.

What I noticed is if I rotated a picture it would be skewed the wrong way. For example, the people looked short and fat before the %110, then the picture was stretched on the long end. Then when rotated into portrait, it was still stretched on the long end and portraits look tall and skinny.

make sense? or am I ramblin'?

yeah i wasnt sure if i did this right, i scale the image first then use the same image and just rotate it, so 110 width become 110 height.

Can you not use the rotate method to rotate?

Matrix X = new Matrix();
X.Rotate(30);
g.Transform = X;

Where g is the graphics object and the 30 is the degrees to rotate

See the following for more info:

i use rotate.fliptype. or something like that, they have stanard 270filp etc lots of methods, im just trying to keep as many things out of the draw method as i can (quicker to draw if less to do Smile).

any way ive fixed the flip bug now, so when it flips the width/height ratio stays the same, my pictures 3 alpha 4.1, its the only change from version 4. download in first post.

Animated Gif support works, I can now pull down a weather map. Great!

Question on the copy button. Where do you set the "save to" path? I looked quickly in the config.xml and I didn't see it. Does it default to "my
pictures"?
<EDIT>
I found the entry in the Config.xml. Please ignore.

Will the "popup menu" have an option to delete a picture or folder?
Great work.
