The last two 32/64 drivers worked great for me, until they would just cut the sound to the card altogether (seemingly) randomly. It could be one hour or three days, and while watching or before tuning in. It would require a reboot to reinitialize the sound.

I never learn, but the lesson is if you have a set that works, just relax and watch some tv, and stop making some wax wings every time there is a new release.

Since installing the 23035 drivers on saturday, I have had correct timelines in all files. However, as stated above, the audio and video sucks big time.

Audio: Hard clipping at -6dB
Video: White blooming and over-saturation

I have corrected both these issues with the TweakTool + registry edits. Seems to be working so far. A driver with the 23035 timeline performance and the video+audio performance of the latest driver (this thread) would possibly help..... hmm, Hauppauge?

Would you mind posting exactly what you did the correct your video and audio troubles? I know other threads cover those topics, but having it here might make it one-stop shopping for people that switch to 23035 based on this threads advice.

Can someone please post or give an updated link to the 23035 drivers?? The link at shspvr isn't working, and I've got some recordings to do tonight (they suffered the timeline bug last night Sad )

Here's the drivers, plus the tweak tool and audio registry entries. Make sure you save your registry entry for your channels so you don't have to add them all again..

Save this key:

[HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hauppauge\Channels]

Uninstall your old drivers, and reinstall following the instructions here:

http://www.shspvr.com/smf/index.php?topic=9026.0

If you also download the CD Lite image, follow the same instructions but substitute the 23035 drivers when prompted (do the 'look in this location' thing when the hardware wizard asks).

Check your card is showing up in device manager correctly and is working okay with WinTV2000. Reinstall your channel info registry key that you backed up.

Install/edit the registry key to make any tweaks stick after reboot from here:

http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/htpc.html

You might want to just go ahead and add the audio gain reg entry as well (I've got -6dB)

If you use gbpvr on your monitor:
Open WinTV2000. Open the TweakTool, remove AGC on the PVR150 tab (remember to check the box and click save - do this in all scenarios), and on the last tab, select the PVR150 from the capture settings dropdown, adjust the settings until your are happy/ satisfied/ tired of messing. Click 'Apply', close out of it, and you should be good to go.

If you use GBPVR on your TV connected directly to your PC:
Open LiveTV in GBPVR, then open the TweakTool and start adjusting; you should see the picture change accordingly.

If you use GBPVR over an MVP with the HTPC in another room (like I do):
Same as above, start GBPVR and live tv, then enlist your wife or someone to shout 'better', 'no, that's worse', 'you had it then', etcetcetc, until you start to have an argument.

For all of them, pick a channel that looks crappy to start with when adjusting, and check on other channels as well.

This is what I did, and it *seems* to be working so far.

Hope this helps. It would still be nice to have drivers that didn't require all this messing around.

Ouch.. after running HCWCLEAR and rebooting, it took out the drivers for my AverMedia M150 as well! And, the 23035 drivers won't load! (it just fails, says its not the right driver or whatever).... man i'm in trouble... Sad

Edit: rebooting again and it seems to be installing.. XP is weird. Smile

Go back to this link here and download the CD beta Lite (or whatever it's called); it has the 'middleware' that you are missing.

I've had this happen while upgrading drivers before too, but I don't think it's related to the 23035 specifically. Wiping everything clean (again) and reinstalling has worked to correct the issue, for me anyway.

I don't know why Hauppauge software has to be so friggin' fragile.
