My last log previously in this thread has

2011-09-17 20:47:07.577 [DEBUG][3] Scheduling deferred skip to occur in 5000ms

yet I have

<PrePlayDelay>500</PrePlayDelay>

Nevermind I see <PreResumeDelay> too

Does PrePlayDelay impact plus some other factor? There's a missing second here.

2011-09-18 00:42:16.533 [DEBUG][3] Scheduling deferred skip to occur in 750ms

PreResumeDelay is the one you need. Its the delay before seeking to a resume point.

PrePlayDelay is the delay that is applied when live tv is started, but before live tv is started. The default is 500ms. You must have bumped it up, and it'll be slowing down you live tv startup time.

It looks like you have a further enhancement of not sending the resume until the PTS is received, no matter how small the value is which will work out well.

Indeed! I've set it back to 500 and I still have good resume. Thanks.

Great thanks Chris,

Brian I'd like to get back to your original problem, I did a lot of testing and the silent resume is still working as I expect it. Could you use the attached with a little bit more debug info and send your logs again when the problem comes up?

Hi Martin,

I've been keeping an eye on the thread watching the posts from you, Chris and sub with interest. Been busy yesterday and today but I'll get a chance to try it tonight and will report back with anything I find. I've kept a couple of the recordings that I know cause the problem so I'll run through them again to see what happens.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi Martin,

Did you make any adjustments to the silent resume code in that varsion of mvpmcx2 (above) or simply add extra logging? The reason I ask is I haven't seen a drop back to Recordings menu for 3 nights now since I installed that version.

Cheers,
Brian

I made a small change for Sheik Yerbouti's files because there were bad PTS values being read during the initial load likely remnants of encrypted data. His client logs identified this problem as did a sample he provided. Your logs and your sample did not have this issue.

Other than that it is only the extra logging.

OK thanks. Perhaps it's like quantum reality - as soon as you try to observe it, it changes its behaviour. Big Grin

I'll send through logs when it happens again (assuming it's going to). I just didn't want you to think I wasn't trying it out.

Cheers,
Brian
