Bloody fast and sweet. Good job...

Got two things.... when you parse the date for movies, I'm not seeing the date, but the yyyy mask... 8 digit dates are ok...

And the programs form caption is still Form1. I thought given a chance you could come up with something better than that... Cool

Thanks. I take it it ran fine in it's own folder then. I could probably improve the speed a little by making the four database searches asyncronous but I figured that it would be too little result for the effort. I think it's satisfactory as is.

Found the issue and fixed it. Movies will have the 4 digit year because that's all the info I get. Otherwise they would all end up being Jan 1 of whichever year. xmltv na_dd is that way as well.

Thanks. I actually thought I fixed that already.

I'll have the final version up by the weekend.

It was just a quick note, before. But yeah it ran fine from anywhere I wanted. I loved how it extracted the dtd from itself, and grabbed the dlls that were necessary.

And if you you think you could speed it up, well that's just nuts..

I suppose the only thing that would be nice is, a version check at start up that would do the rename of the .config for the user. (It was no problem for me, but it's very close to being a completely hands free install...)

I know that my Enhancer would benefit from using your dll, but the real bottle neck for it, is grabbing tvdb xml files and epguides.com html files for all known recurring shows. It's actually already quite quick about that.

When I have time to fix whatever I break, I'll give it a go...

I actually had it doing this, the problem was that you had to restart the program once the file was written for it to be loaded. I figured most people could rename the file just as quick. Smile

Then there's the logic that if someone starts it in 2005 without the config, they'll end up restarting the program anyway....

The Last released downloader still works, and will work with the new converter. Whurlston mentioned that he might not get around to adding a downloader into his new converter for a while though.

^ What he said. It's on my list but it may take a while. When I post the final version of the new converter this weekend, I'll be posting the source for it and the old downloader. Someone else may get to it before I do.

whurlston, I missed something while working on the PCH, as it looks like there is a new version. What has changed? The old one is still working flawlessly and I find it prefect for my needs.

The new version has a built in GUI (for non geeks) and runs quite a bit faster. It also outputs a 100% xmltv compliant file. It also adds the ability to customize the <display-name> tags (more of a benefit to users of other PVR programs).

If you switch to the new version, be warned that it uses a new channel id scheme that solves the duplicate channel problem. Definitely use it in a test environment first. The <date> tag for movies has "yyyy" in the RC2 build as Frank pointed out but the release will be up this weekend and fixes that.

I've actually removed features from this version though like the new show marker. It is designed to work with Frank's new enhancer.

To be honest, the reason I wrote the new version was because I went to comment the source code on my original and release it and realized that it was a complete mess. :o I just started over from scratch.

If the old version is working there is no real reason to switch unless you want faster conversions. If that isn't an issue, you don't have to bother.

Edit: I really need to get a PCH but the wife wants a new house. Guess who wins.
