Does anybody have any idea what this error means:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Its a bit vague and I can't see anything obvious in the logs. It appears everytime I press stop (on my MVP) while watching a video. It happens with transcode videos and MPEGs.

Thanks.

Look in your gbpvr.exe.log file and you should see more detail as to what caused the error.

Hi sub,

i hope this is the right place to make an information about a (new?) possible bug.

After i installed the maintenance release, i had the problem that i didn't had anymor 5.1 Sound.

For Playback i have configured as VideoDecoder the Hauppauge one and for Audio decoding i decided to use the AC3 Filter, because it's able to playback normal MPEG-Movies in 5.1.

In Version 0.96.8 there was no problem (ok, LiveTV wasn't able to get 5.1 Sound, but recorded/timeshifted shows worked @ 5.1).

In Version 0.96.12 i am only able to get 5.1 Sound @ playing back DVD's. What's happened? I tried the NVIDIA Audio Decoder too -> same result. But if i playback with the WMP and the NV Audio Decoder, there's 5.1 Sound.

I read in you announcing, that you fixed somethin with ac3..., perhaps you brought in an error?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your logs and I'll take a look.

I be watch some recorded on video playback, then all of a sudden the Meda MVP reboots to the main menu. This has happen to everything I've recorded since after installing the update yesterday..

What dongle are you using dongle.bin or gbmvp.bin?

Yea I’ve been seeing that also. I have a feeling it happens most often when a recording starts or stops in the background, but it’s too soon to know for sure.

That related to creating audio pins when recording or watching tv from a DVB capture device. Is this what you're talking about?

Yes. Hm, DVB related. I am not a programmer, so i can't say if this has something to do with this.

I can only say, that the same configuration by 0.96.8 gives ans 5.1 Sound-Ouput, while in 0.96.12 there's only 2.0 output.

Uninteresting what i configure within Windows or GB-PVR. Only DVD-Material goes @ 5.1 Sound now.

Is it actually a 5.1 source or are you doing some sort of post processing (with AC3Filter) to turn everything into 5.1 sound?

If it is a tv channel with real 5.1 sounds, you could try setting <BDAQuickPidSwitch>false</BDAQuickPidSwitch> in config.xml. It might help.

It's some sort of postprocessing some input to Output 5.1 Sound. How i said, with Version 0.96.8 it worked, now it didn't work. Crazy ^^;

But even if the TV isn't sending real 5.1..., i'll try your setting and look if this works.
