McBainUK Wrote:Well no, in fact. You've just copied and pasted from your previous post !?

The way I understand it you want plugin developers to make a commonimage xml skin file, which is a good idea but in practice, some may not. They are only obliged to make a 'Blue' xml skin file.

What is all this "drag and drop between skins". What are the different skins? Different xmls using the CommonImages? If so that means more skin files to update when plugins/GBPVR get updated. Which is the base problem this whole skin project was started to avoid. (rememer the too many plugins, too many skins... thread?)

The idea.....gives just ONE skin standard. A new Subs "default" would be the best.

Is ONE bad or good?

So if the user wanted a different look, does he/she copy and paste new CommonImages or new xml files? I don't get where you're coming from.

Reebots original complaint was that so many skins are not working with the existing plugins.
So how do we get the plugins working with most skins?
My answer, by having an Image and Text naming standard for GBPVR and skins!
A standard that Sub and plugin devloper supports.
Simple as that.

We have created a working suggestion now with the CommonImage based skins. I hope that Sub and the plugin developers can see the benefits, since thay all "hate" the skinning part.
We skinner just make the suggestions for the developers to adopt.
I think that we have made a suggestion now.

I think this issue has been resolved...

Old Dog has given the community (probably) the most complete skinning system ever designed!
Works with virtually every plugin there is posted on the wiki, and allows easy changing of the complete look and feel to whatever colour/button scheme anyone could want.
This was my original vision when I posted the (now extremely long) thread about too many plugins.
Any user can download Plain Jane, and it will work with any plugin they have (almost?).

LOL :-) Advertising ?

You are doing a great job Old Dog. Your skinning system is the most advanced here and the job you have made on the plugin skin is admirable.
I'm too lazy to want to bother with the plugin skinning. I would like to have the plugin developers to do the skinning job and still get a coherent look with most skins.
