Because I've been programming C# for less than a year, am completely self taught and I'm not that good yet. It would require using DLL import and although I know how to do it, it would have taken me longer to code. My priority was getting it to work... since I'm on a deadline and all. Smile

You may want to be real careful using my next app then :p

Can't pass up an opportunity to use a line, that may even work in written form like here...

As an update... I updated to your latest release and all is (still)well with the world! For everyone elses knowledge, here is how I am using it:
My main GBPVR rig is running on XP so I am getting the xmltv file off my PC with MCE in it.
MCE 05-
-Put the program in the ehome directory like it tells you to.
-Wrote a batch file (one of my first!) to execute the program with the options I needed. (C:\WINDOWS\ehome\Mce05Epg2XmlTv.exe dir=C:\xmltvout name=1)
-Wrote an exclusion file in notepad (just a channel number in a text file) and put it in the same directory as the program.
-Created a folder that I could on the network called xmltvout and made sure the batch file pointed the output to it.
-On my DVR computer, set up the EPG source in config to be xmltv and pointed it at the shared xmltvout file on the MCE computer.
-Set up scheduler on the MCE box to execute the batch file daily.

I am going to set MCE to update at a specific time and then stage the scheduler and then GBPVR about an hour apart to make sure everything times out OK.

So far so good with great looking guide data.

Thanks!

OK. Got MCE setup on my production machine. Setup the tuners and the guide. It asked me Postal Code and local lineups. It was spot on.

After it had finished, in MCE, I saw all the programming data... 14 days worth I think (default).

Then I copied over 1.04 into the ehome directory, and double clicked on it. No support text files. It found 63 channels and processed them. It created a file 0008100-.xml by default. (had to wonder what that filename meant - but I know I can create whatever output filename I'd like)

I killed the epg in GB-PVR, told the capture sources to use 0008100-.xml as the xmltv file, and it imported...

I only had about 16 channels and there were no shows. Something about No Data Available or something...

Since it was my production machine, I restored the config and database so I could catch some shows...

On next attempt, what should I be doing? I want to see all channels available to me, before I start choosing with the include/exclude files...

Also, I usually don't think of my channels as Call signs, so when I saw that there was no preceding channel number in GB-PVR I was worried.

I DO know that that is the way xmltv is for everyone else in the world. Sub think the preding channel number looks bad.

I just want my TV guide to show the number and/rather than the call sign...

Edit: OOPS! Read the First post. the Name switch takes care of that for me...

Regarding setting the time of EPG download...

A previous link to software worked, but the software didn't. Another search and this program did...

The name=1 in my batch file puts the channel number in front of the call sign. I think there are several choices that you can format it. Look on the first post.

Your other problem sounds exactly like an issue I had earlier. It is creating the file, but gbpvr is gagging on something. Your log files should show you what it getting stuck on. Mine was 2 channel 66's. If you find the problem, you can exclude it if you don't need the channel. You can also edit the bad data out of the xmltv file so you can test import it. If that works, then I bet whurlston can fix it. (look at my post 24 in this thread)

Zehd, can you email me a copy of the 0008100-.xml file created. I suspect soccerdad is right on this. My email is my forum name at oshinetworks.com. Zip the file first though.

Also, the file name is your headend id. You can override it with the "file=" option. Don't use a path though, only a filename. The "dir=" option can be used to specify a path other than the current directory.
