But I will not recommend GBPVR since it is out of maintanance, and even if NPVR is still beta it works much better Smile

Black/green card, yes.
I'm considering buying a CAM directly from CD (so they are responsible if it needs to be replaced etc). If I do, I will get a new card, most likely will it be paired with the CAM. Can I use the same card in my CD decoder? Because I want to be able to take the card out and put it in the decoder if my HTPC shouldn't work.

Any thoughts?

And are there any cardservers for Windows?

Ok, what I'm now thinking:

NPVR with Terratec Cinergy C HD + SoftCam (I have a USB-cardreader from NorskTipping, will it work?)

Later on (when it's forced pairing) I guess I'll order the CAM from CD. I guess NPVR will support Terratec Cinergy Cs CAM by that time.

I would NOT trust Terratec's CI module to be supported by NPVR, ever, Sub har tried to get the info from them for years with no response. However, your green/black card will work with a cardreader until you get a new (paired) card from CD. There is a special version of NewCS that is said to work with the cardreader from Norsk Tipping, but I haven't tested it so I can't say for sure. I bought mine from AD-Tekink in Sweden (quite cheap), they are Phoenix-compatible.

BTW: Have you already got the Cinergy capturecard and the CI module?

If there is any testing on the card that might help development, just let me know! I will try to provide any information you need.

That's probably true provided that NPVR has all of the features you need. Unfortunately, I need client/server, which isn't there just yet.

Sub - Do you realise how frustrating it is for a self-acknowledged early-adopter geek to have to sit on the sidelines watching everyone else play with the new toy because one required feature is not there yet? It's pure torture! Big GrinBig Grin

*hehe*

My mainrig is running primary GB-PVR Client/Server... nPVR is only as 2nd install available. As long it's not final, it will not replace GB-PVR. You should do the same. Big Grin
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!
