Thanks, the only thing I can glean from the thread is that "new logic is solely based on channel name matches." So does that mean in the "matching rules" section we should replace

If the channel name is exact then it will be scheduled. This means if the first 10 characters of the NextPVR channel name match the Callsign name used in TitanTV's lineup.
If not the above, then if the channel number matches and the title matches exactly it will be scheduled
If not the above, then it checks for exact title and subtitle on the first channel it matches. If a match is found then it will be scheduled. The time must also match all three.

with If the channel name is exact then it will be scheduled. This means if the first 10 characters of the NextPVR channel name match the Callsign name used in TitanTV's lineup.

or is channel number still part of it as well.

Also need some guidance on the possible errors returned in the log. The previous version stated what's below, but if the matching rules have changed then so perhaps have some of these error conditions ?

Name not found
Name found but nothing on at that time
Channel number not found
Channel number found but nothing on at that time
Channel number found but program doesn't match
No matches

For the new logic, name matching didn't change, so yes the exact match means the 10 character condition. It technically is 9 if the truncated 10th character is a space. No it doesn't apply to channel number matches.

The exact log message aren't right but those states are ok, I don't know if you need to be exact, they are really for me if and when I get a zipped log to look at if something doesn't . There isn't a log for No matches., just if it is scheduled or if actually scheduling failed, perhaps because of a conflict.

The new logic kicks in during the name found state, when there is no guide data at all at the time.

Editing a scheduled recording from TitanTV to turn it into a daily or weekly recording:
The scheduled recordings look correct in NextPVR. The first recording has its own folder. The recordings after the first one go into the manual recordings folder and have the title of the show. But every daily recording deletes/overwrites the prior day's recording. I had recordings from Feb 17, then the next day those recordings are no longer there but recordings from Feb 18 are, then the next day those are gone and there are recordings from Feb 19.

I am guessing that has something to do with only using 9 or 10 characters in the title. The titles are there, and the date is then included in the title, for example "Touched by an Angel_20220218_07000900.ts".

Setting a recurring manual recording this way is nice since the manual recordings then have the tv show title instead of just the channel name and date. This wasn't the purpose of getting this TitanTV .TVPI scheduling to work in this thread, so it's just a nice-to-have. But I was curious about it and tested it, and those are the results.

Hmm, maybe there's a "never overwrite recordings" setting somewhere in NextPVR that would easily fix that. Just a thought.

I expected only the first one would have metadata. When you change it to a recurring recording do you change it to Keep All?

Uploading your zipped logs would help.

Big Grin  nope.  Good call. I've never changed that setting to Keep All.  Never had to before.

I now see it automatically is already set to Keep All when scheduling a manual recording in NextPVR like usual (without using TitanTV).  Was hoping there might be an easy fix like that.  I scheduled some new tests for it, and I assume they will work fine since the shows were recording fine but were just being deleted.

Good, this is nothing to do with the NextTVPI. Changing a one-off to a recurring type leaves it as the original which naturally is Keep 1.

I'm looking at the linked doc in post #73. Lots of information in it. There's a couple areas I think could use a little tweaking. I don't know if I should or even could do anything about that other than post suggestions here:

The first part of the _Titan TV Benefits_ section says you will ditch the default lineup and make a custom lineup and requires becoming a free member of TitanTV to do so. It then says the default lineup is for broadcast ATSC, though a later section more accurately says the default can be any typical lineup.

I think some people might quit reading right there thinking they HAVE to sign up to TitanTV and HAVE to create their own custom lineups. From what I can tell, a custom lineup is only necessary if people are combining multiple sources/EPGs like dayvboy is doing to get both Canada and U.S. (and UK?) channels. Or maybe a custom lineup is only needed if wanting to delete some channels on TitanTV or group certain channels together.

It's great that TitanTV and NextPVR can do lineups like that, but I'd think most people don't use such custom lineups. And registration to TitanTV isn't required for non-custom lineups since browser cookies keep the settings. It's more of an advanced feature, and it's a big section of the documentation, and the entire section should probably be put later in the documentation and put the easier setup sections ahead of it.

This also has an effect on the Configuring Titan TV Guide section about editing channel IDs so TitanTV and NextPVR channel IDs match. The channel IDs can be edited in NextPVR, leaving the TitanTV channel IDs alone, so doing it that way doesn't require doing it in TitanTV and also doesn't require a TitanTV membership. Currently, I don't think there's any mention in the doc about editing channel IDs in NextPVR instead of in TitanTV.

There's a mention later in the Creating Custom Titan Channel Lineup section about maybe not needing a custom lineup, but it's kind of buried down there instead of being near the top.

Thanks FM5. I will work on the doc over the next week. Getting the lineups to match was a learning in progress exercise. I like your suggestion of the "reverse" configuration of the lineups (i.e. change NextPVR and leave Titan as is). One question though, if you don't create a custom lineup, won't there be channels in the Titan lineup that won't be in NextPVR ? Thanks again.
