This is the error that I started getting, ever since I redid my MCE 2005 box. I was able to solve it consistently by removing the All Users...\EPG directory, effectively removing all MCE EPG files, and then STOPPING the schedule service prior to starting the download.

The batch file I included in the previous post works, just need to edit the first few lines to suit...

OK. Now I'm a little frustrated.

I cannot get the downloader to consistently download listings. Whe it errorsm the converter fails...

Of course I have tried many variations, but mostly simply, first downloader, then converter, (no delete, start/stop etc...

Code:
2008-03-31 2:19:51 PM - Starting MceEpgDownloader (2005 Edition) v1.0.0.6
2008-03-31 2:19:51 PM - Preparing to retrieve headendlist
2008-03-31 2:19:52 PM - - Connecting.
2008-03-31 2:19:53 PM - - Downloading.
2008-03-31 2:19:54 PM - - Complete.
2008-03-31 2:19:54 PM - Guide reset.
2008-03-31 2:19:55 PM - New guide options set.
2008-03-31 2:19:55 PM - Preparing to download new listings
2008-03-31 2:19:55 PM - - Initializing.
2008-03-31 2:19:55 PM - - Connecting.
2008-03-31 2:19:56 PM - - Downloading.
2008-03-31 2:20:11 PM - - Error.

I'll see if I can reproduce the problem. It may be a day or two before I get to it though.

That's fine. I'm using SD for the moment...

Yes. It created an iso file, and Enhacer passes that through and the copyright symbol shows in GB-PVR...

Great, I'll try to add it to the MceEpg2XmlTv download package if I get a chance.

Edit: NM, I see you did it already.

I need to download two different lineups from two different geographic areas. Apparently MceEpgDownloader uses one of the keys in the registry to establish where to look for the lineup for a given headend id. I happen to be in the UK using both Virgin cable and AFN satellite. The AFN satellite listings are apparently US based and, of course, the Virgin (NTL) lineup is UK based. So when I have Vista Media Center set to retrieve listings for Virgin cable (NTL Bromley), running MceEpgLoader with the headend ID for AFN results in "could not find headend id: CA64700-" Setting up Vista Media Center for the correct US zip code results in several registry keys being changed, one of which apparently determines which headends are available to the downloader.

I think there would be other people in the world with a similar problem, say someone living in the UK from other parts of Europe with Virgin cable and a German satellite provider (or something).

Would it be possible to add an additional option (maybe "regionTuningCode" or "country" or "supplierId" or some combination) that would override the existing registry entries so you could get to the headends for a different geographic area?
