Hey Sub. I noticed that in the config for transcoding to XviD you set the FourCC code to "xvid"
I think it should be set to "XVID" in upper case. On my PC which has a basic install in terms of codecs, the transcoded files don't open in media player classic, or in GBPVR (I only have the audio.

Once I opened the file in VirtualDub forcing the fourcc to XVID, and then save a copy with no compression (direct stream copy of the video and audio), then the FourCC is "XVID" in upper case and it opens fine both in gbpvr and mediaplayer classic.

I tried modifying the config.xml and will adv if I found the right settings when I check for the transcode results tomorrow morning Smile

Anyone else has this error message at the end of install just before the config screen opens?

I haven't been able to install a working release on this comp, new box w/Xp pro
and SP2.

Thanks for helping.

I get this occasionally after trying to play an .avi from Video Library, but otherwise no problems.

I would love to hear in another thread about how that hardware? and software is working for you when you have gotten it to work

Any ideas on my problem above? Should I have started a new thread in the support forum?

I went to Morgan Stream Switcher's web page, and it said to remove it, install and uninstall. I did that now I get this. Is there a way to "reset" the default decoders?

Probably the next thing I would try is explicitly setting the audio and video decoders in the config app to something other than those highlighted above.

Since I upgraded to this version I notice the following bugs:
- I often see a green display when pausing, resuming or skipping a movie
- The screensaver doesn't release when pressing any button. Only pressing "guide" could make the screensaver go away.

They are both set to MainConcept (Hauppauge)
which might explain
10:56:21.156 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: MainConcept (Hauppauge) MPEG Audio Decoder
10:56:21.187 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: MainConcept (Hauppauge) MPEG Video Decoder
I'll try some different items there.
