upgraded to 1.4.7, no issues except when remapping my existing qam turner (haup PVR1600) I was not given the option to connect to silicon dust to do the final mapping.

Should I just delete the existing mapping and do it over, or should that have worked? I guess I am wondering how to "force" it to do that. Otherwise looking very good (and everything is working fine with my manual mappings...)

Ok, yeah I deleted it, redid it, and got the "channel helper" popup.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have done anything - I know the QAM listing for my area code is correct - but there are several lineups to choose from when you go to the website
This one is correct for me:
http://www.silicondust.com/hdhomerun/lin...eup_913007

So, doesn't look like that's handled correctly in the mapping bit. If you'd like to use me to test any changes or I can provide more feedback, let me know because that would be a great feature to have

Duh... sorry... it did, I just didn't see what it did. Nothing to see here, move along :p

Ok, Wow... that QAM mapping is painful.

Can I make a feature suggestion? If there is SiliconDust clear QAM listing data for the user, can you fetch that FIRST, only scan those channels, and then match up by call sign to the listings data automatically to provide a first guess at the mapping? If you did that for me, the scan would take about 5 minutes tops (22 channels vs at least 60+ for the "70+ scan") and it would match all but 1 channel (SCIFI vs SYFY)

Failing that, could you at least SORT the popup list of QAM channels by... anything? Channel number, Station Name, anything at all. As it is its in some random order where you have to scan the list each time top to bottom to find the channel.

Ok, griping over. It's a great version, I totally appreciate it, and keep up the great work!

The main issue with that approach is that if the lineup changes, you would need to wait for someone with an HDHomeRun in your area to rescan, then wait for the new scan to populate to the lineup server. Highly unrecommended.

Well, considering I've got other system instabilities since upgrading, this is likely the least of my problems. Will need to collect some data and post the list of problems at some point.

Seems like a reasonable OPTION at least, as those rescans seem to post up within a day of changes. For sure, some kind of sort would really help.

I ran into a complete mess after upgrade. all settings were lost, all config settings empty (and i mean empty, no options to choose from), etc.

I suggest you uninstall it, delete "devnz" folder from Program Files and start over. QAM mapping is a pain and I know what you mean as I mapped close to a hundred digital channels (raw digital input, no STB here).

all worked with a fresh install for me, however another problem is the number of channel the scan routine picks up. it differs every time. tweaking some config.xml settings helped a bit, but still some channels sometimes show up and sometimes they don't even though i can tune in (map the "string") manually and watch them.

whurlston posted it in another thread, may help with missing channels on scanner:
whurlston Wrote:Try adjusting the following values in config.xml:

Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>5</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
  <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>25</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>

another story is your ISP would occasionally move some channels around. in 2 weeks i had to remap free QAM HD channels at least once, e.g. ABC-HD, WPIX-HD, WWOR-HD and WNET-HD (PBS).

Actually was thinking the same thing - what I did instead (first) was to install the latest ffdshow, redo all *its* settings, and point gbpvr at it to do the decoding.

For now, seems like it might be doing the trick.

Overall I love the changes/updates, I just hate to muck with a stable system...

ffdshow is not bad unless you running the tuner in a performance machine with 2-3 video cards in SLI. for a long time i didn't know it was ffdshow causing TV stuttering when OS was operating in nvidia SLI mode... uninstalled it, started using Nvidia Purevideo decoders and all good. i only do not quite like EVR video renderer in my Vista x64 - a little smudging. would need to re-check the setup under W7 x64 though.
I miss the 100% stable GBPVR i had under XP ... and hope the fun will come back with W7 soon Wink

bda.ini entry.

[Pinnacle 4000i twin DVB-S]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
FILTER_TUNER="Pinnacle Stargate Tuner"
FILTER_CAPTURE="Pinnacle Stargate Capture"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=input0
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=output1

Is it worth adding this one to the list? It works fine with live TV and recording. Preview in mapping is OK, but ends the scanning with "no stations found". With copying other folks cache files it is very usable.
Twin tuner with single name and uses logical channels to select.

(I've been caught out by reinstalling and getting it removed from bda.ini :eek: )
