I've now started to use NPVR (still can't get any picture or sound though), but everything seems to be OK with newCS etc.

One thing:

I started a radiochannel (which works!) and then tried to choose a TV-channel, but then I got "no available capture card" or something like that. This was via the EPG-program, but if I choose Live TV on the menu, radio stops and TV starts (apart from me not getting picture/sound yet).

Didn't have MPV/MPA, but chose Cyberlink instead of MPV, and MPEG instead of MPA.

I'm now watching TV Big GrinBig GrinBig GrinBig Grin
This is just excellent!

One thing:

I'm using the TV-guide to choose a channel to watch, but whenever I choose a program, the default answer is "Close", could this be set to "Watch"?

For the record: Questions about npvr and problems should be posted in the NPVR Support forum, wishes in the Whishlist forum :p

@sub

I have a question for the planned Server / Client function. Will you enable a hybrid functionality this time? So that we can use nPVR local to plan recordings(!) on the server, while we watch local with a local tv card? Or will you implement it like it was in gb-pvr?

My favourite were a hybrid mode. ;D

It'll be implemented a similar way to GBPVR, with the tuners in the server only. Its too much work otherwise, particularly when I dont use PC clients myself, and it'd also make several parts of the application much more complicated than I'd like them to be.

Mhm... ok, not exactly that, what i wanted to read... Big Grin But nevermind, nPVR seems to can run in 2 instances, or more. Additional with your future "custom task" implementation and a "npvr.exe -livetv" it could work, as wished.

Thank you sub, for the input. Now the setup for my server stands. I feel like a 7 years old child, waiting for christmas... (nPVR next built) ;D

If you install (unfortunately you'll have to pay for it but there is a free trial) DVBLogic's DVBLink software, you can have the tuner on any computer in your network and still access it from the server, even if it actually is on the client.

Hi! The idea itself isn't bad at all, but i am an analog user, so there's no success with this software. And more... i love subs work and i will never switch to another solution, i will try to make it with his software, somehow. ^.^

Digital TV... nah, never again. I tried DVB-C at 2005 and was very disappointed. Sometimes standing pictures, noisy pictures with artefacts (dataloss while broadcasting). This with a standalone DVB-C decoder from the provider. No, i am not a fan of digital tv: in the future additional payments, digital rights management and more. Should analog tv someday disabled in germany, i will give up tv und use nPVR just as mediacenter for my dvd collection. *buck*
