GB-PVR will only be adding one, and Windows will be adding the other. I think it'd do this if your preferred decoder doesnt like something about the stream.

I tried different files by different encoders w/ the same result. I tried turning off ffdshow all together. I run it though GSpot and it just lists the direct sound and it just lists mpeg audio decoder and default direct sound device. I also ran it through the direct sound tests in dxdaig, and it ran fine. I ran it again in GB and got this:

23:08:24.312 VERBOSE Creating new graph
23:08:24.328 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
23:08:24.437 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioDecoder)
23:08:24.734 VERBOSE audio decoder filter: NVIDIA Audio Decoder
23:08:24.734 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredDecoder)
23:08:24.859 VERBOSE video decoder filter: NVIDIA Video Decoder
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - NVIDIA Video Decoder
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - NVIDIA Audio Decoder
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - MPEG-I Stream Splitter
23:08:25.578 VERBOSE - \\Arbitrary\Shows\Law & Order\Law & Order - 15x01.mpg

I just removed nvidia, and no luck either:

23:20:28.328 VERBOSE Creating new graph
23:20:28.328 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
23:20:28.390 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioDecoder)
23:20:28.390 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredDecoder)
23:20:28.421 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: default
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - MPEG Video Decoder
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - MPEG Audio Decoder
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - MPEG-I Stream Splitter
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE - \\Arbitrary\Shows\Law & Order\Law & Order - 15x01.mpg
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)
23:20:28.562 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playFile() done
23:20:28.562 VERBOSE DirectShowPlayerBase:ConfusedetPlaybackRate(1.000000)
23:20:28.578 VERBOSE Restoring audio

I tired the straight mpeg decoder, default, and intervideo, and no luck. It still player fine (audio and video) in WMP.

If I get go long enough, it throws an error C++ error for GB for module ntdll

Wait a minute, what is this filter doing in there?

20:39:34.640 VERBOSE - MPEG-I Stream Splitter

You usually only see that with MP3 audio, or possibly MPEG-1 video files.

Don't know what it is. I just tried running a repair, but no luck. I may try rolling back to see.

Sry...missed the end..this is a MPEG 1 file (I put it as I, so maybe it was missed). I was trying to play in my videos, and in the built-in video player.

Ah, I see. I missed the "I" part of "MPEG I" in your original post. I though we were talking MPEG2. Yes, you are correct. There is a bug with playback of MPEG1 file. I've just fixed and will include in the patch build due in the next day.

...who still uses MPEG1 these days. I dont remember the last time I played one of these files.

Not to nitpick, but it appears the "date pushed off the screen" bug still isn't fixed yet. Right now it says "Wednesday, September 14, 20" instead of 2005. I know it's probably not high on the "to fix" list just wanted to refresh your memory Wink

Ok...I was about to post the graph and let you know it played fine. Sorry for going Roman in the first place Wink Glad to know it wasn't me going nuts (even if I was making myself so).

I run into the occasional mpg file. Someone who posts the Law & Order series still does them that way (there are just too many episodes/series to record).
