Maybe there's a reg value in mce that you could query and flip, so that someone doesn't have to rerun the mce setup...?
There is, I just have to remember what it is. Also, there is a setting in the MCE settings that you can change, you don't have to go through the whole setup again.

If I don't run MceEpgDownloader regularly and my database is stale, I get the ERSTATUS_DLFILEERROR error and have to go to VMC and start a manual EPG update. Then I cancel it and reset all the service settings and remove the EPG update from startup. Once or twice I even had to re-add my device.

hmm, yeah, that's a different situation. I have a feeling this error is going to take me a while to find. I'll find it though.

I'm working on it but don't have it yet. Question though: Are you wanting to change just the number displayed or are you wanting to change the tuning number as well?

just the number displayed would be sufficient. I'm not sure if there would be a need to change the tuning number?

The renumbering that I am implementing is for changing the tuning in case any of your tuning numbers are wrong in the EPG. If you simply want to change the number that is displayed or change the order of channels, do what I mentioned earlier:

Run Config.exe
Go to the "Channels" tab.
Enter the number you want for a specific channel.

Renumbering the channels in the xml file will result in GBPVR attempting to tune to the renumbered channel. For example, if you renumber TNT from 46 to 96, when switching to TNT, GBPVR will tune to channel 96.

Ah, sorry for the confusion. I was trying to rename the channel under the tuner source, and that wasn't working. I'll give your way a try.

Thanks

Anyone have hints/tips/links for an OTA card that I'm trying to get a cable EPG for since MCE OTA doesn't include more than one subchannel? I've read the posts over at thegreenbutton, but either they're not the easiest to follow, or I'm simply doing something wrong.

After typing this, I'm going to look into the build date thing. Possibly, some build dates of MCE can't be hacked or whatever to use a cable EPG with an OTA card.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

If you have an analog card attached, you should be able to select a cable lineup. You can remove the analog card after setting up the EPG.

That's the thing. I can't. Antenna is the only option given with a digital/analog dual OTA card. Hmm, maybe I don't have the analog tuner's driver installed or something. Wouldn't think so, but it's something to look into.
