I have some programs that comskip just works horrible on, so it would be nice to be able to turn comskip off for just those recordings whenever i set them up for a season record.

Sorry, I probably wont do this. comskip isnt important enough to me to justify a space in the Schedule Recording screen. There is only limited space there, and I want to keep it clear some changes I've got in mind for the future.

Just a suggestion, I'm very happy with gbpvr as it is anyway. You wouldn't happen to want to leak a little teaser as to what you might have in store for the future?

If these programs are on a particular channel, maybe you could switch comskip use off for that channel. This can be done with some simple batch programming in the postprocessing.bat file. For e.g. I skip comskip on the HBO programs because there are no commercials - saves CPU time.
Just a suggestion, don't know if that might help you.

You could try using DirMon from DragonGlobal (the guy who makes showanalyser) - you can set it to scan your recording directories and then run comskip or showanalyser (or any other program really) on them. You can put the show names you want to ignore on a list of items to indicate non-processing.

My problem/wish (which I think can't be fixed as sub doesn't like differentiating recording sources) is that I record programs with both a PVR150 and a dvb-s card, and comskip/showanalyser settings that work perfectly for one source, basically don't work at all with the other. If I could tell which source had recorded a particular program, I could process it with a particular profile - as with the channel settings, but as it is, my commercial pick-up is haphazard at best Smile

Would it be possible instead to turn off commersial skipping on play back? I sometimes record shows where it is obvious comskip has got confused by dark scenes. It would be good to be able to press a button that tells GBPVR to forget about commercial skipping for the current show being played.

Maybe you could have a look at the comskip tuning guide (can be found on the comskip ftp server) and disable the black frame detection or change the sensitivity.

Not to be too obvious, and I suppose it depends on the percentage of time that comskip gets it right for you, but I just turn off the autoskip option in gbpvr config and hit "play" when ads come on - not much effort on my part, and reduces the chance that bits of the program will suddenly "disappear".

I'm interested in doing this as well...I am intrigued by the bat file solution but no longer fire up comskip via postprocessing.bat because our man Sub lets me set the config to run comskip. Can I switch back to the postprocess.bat way without breaking something and can you give me specifics on how to modify the .bat file to NOT run comskip on composite and svideo "channels"? Thanks
