New version to test.
Sysinfo 0.2a

You need to install Motherboard Monitor, when installed you should enable "Interval Logging" currrently I am collecting the info from the generated XML file, will update to use MBM's shared memory in a later version.

Once MBM is installed and running, you need to Add the following section to the GBPVR config.xml
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">
 <SysInfoPlugin>
  <Version>0.1a</Version>
<Mbm5>D:\\Motherboard Monitor 5\\Log\\MBM 5 Interval Log.xml</Mbm5>
 </SysInfoPlugin>
[/QUOTE]
Don't forget to change the path for the MBM lof file [Image: smile.gif]

And if you didn't install the previous version, add the following to the &quot;main menu&quot; skin.xml in the &quot;SpecialElement&quot; section
&lt;SpecialElement name=&quot;Panel&quot; panelName=&quot;SysInfoPanel&quot; visible=&quot;true&quot; loc=&quot;500,100&quot; size=&quot;180,80&quot;/&gt;

very nice! only 'problem' is that the panel showing the cpu ussage takes up quite a bit resourses [Image: smile.gif] standing in the main menu I have about 3-5% cpu ussage, when the panel is running showing the cpu ussage it goes up to about 50% (on a Via M10000) [Image: tounge.gif]

mmm, mine uses about 9/10% (2.4GHz Celeron),but it is to do with the refreshing of the screen not the CPU counter, even displaying a completely blank InfoPanel uses 8% CPU

Ok, after some further investigation it is definately the refresh that cause the constant 9% usage, I have added a counter so that it only renders the panel every 5 secs, this stops the constant cpu usage, you just get a brief 9% spike as it renders the page

Hey Huw,

Very nice plugin - thanks for that!

It would be really nice if you could also show the HD temperatures. Dunno how to read them, but there's plenty of apps around that do it so hopefully it's possible in a plugin.

Also, it would be very cool if there was an option to show the numbers as a progress meter rather than text so as to give a visual indication of capacity.

Just dreaming....

Thanks

Unfortunately I haven't found anything which is any use yet.

Hi Huw,

I just noticed some reference to HD temps being available from MBM if SMART equipped drives are used. Most drives seem to be SMART equipped these days.

By numbers I meant stuff like %full on drive capacity shown as a progress bar. It's a quick glance visual indication rather than a number.

Dunno how feasible that is within the plugin framework though.

Cheers,

Mmm, will check, I have smart enabled drives, but don't see anywhere in MBM about disk drives

I did think about that, but to be honest telling some people that their drive is 50% full wouldn't help, not unless you knew what percentage a recording took up, if a recording takes 6GB and you have 30Gb free then you can record 5 progs, but if I had 30% free How much is that in terms of recordings ?
