Hi,

First post in the forum and I should start with a compliment to Sub on a very, very useful system. GBPVR is a class piece of work - so this is my opportunity to say - thanks Sub for GBPVR - it installed and worked first time (albeit with some help from a good colleague).

One quick question. One of the most irritating changes that our NZ broadcasters have loaded onto us, is the continual presence of station bugs (i.e. the station logo that now appears on every TV channel). In most cases, these logo's are faded well down (i.e. translucent) so that they do not get in the way. But for some channels they are a real intrusion.

Has anyone figured out a way of toning them down so that they are less intrusive. The colored ones (i.e. National Geographic and Discovery) are some of the most intrusive but all of them get in the way. It occured to me that perhaps GBPVR might be a way of dealing with them. One advantage is that they never move their position. Perhaps the color can be removed from them - anything would help?

Is that something that could perhaps go onto a wish list?

Once again, thanks for a top class program.

Cheers Mike
Wellington NZ.

I might be wrong, but you might be able to do something like that with ffmpeg post processing. Don't ask me how, though. Even if it is possible, I have no idea how to... Smile

I couldn't let this go, I had to download and check... it's not under post processing, but there is a setting called "logoaway"... maybe that's a place to start, at least... =)

Thanks Stefan

I will investigate that some more. Would be great to see those logo's removed.

Really appreciate your thinking about this.

Cheers Mike

Mruane, did you succeed to remove the station bugs?

Those logos are very annoying. Sometimes they display not one but three pictures, and it is really distracting.
I prefer to see a black hole instead of a logo.

You also need to be aware that they are pretty reliable triggers for comskip as they are not usually present in ads.

Not in the UK they're not

I did a bit of googling, but things just went from bad to worse.

A de-logo filter for VirtualDub http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/capture/delogo.html

But it needs AVI files I think, so I converted one and found you have to do all sorts of manual tweaking.

I'm sure logo removal would make an excellent project for some university graphics processing whizkid Smile
