It is not a P2P system just a simple client server application. So would not have a large p2p group. Do not think of it as an illegal tool but as a poor mans Sling Box mechanism. If I am at work I should be able to pull my shows from my home machine and watch stuff if I want when I am not at home.
If someone wanted to use the automated hooks to do other things like pull there shows to their laptop after it is recorded so they can take it with them that also should be allowed. If someone is sending HBO and PPV that is another issue but it is a closed system between two users.

I guess it's kind of like arguing bittorrent should be illegal because people transfer copywritten material using it. If that were the standard then we'd have to get rid of ftp, http, etc. I guess it was just the part about downloading shows from a friend who had HBO and you didn't that threw me.

OK - but I seem to get teh same error when I simply run priorityrecordings on its own.
I have three schedules set up - get xmltv update, then updateepg then run priorityrecordings. Do I just have to be patient?!

The station and implied use you talk about never existed in this thread. When I read the original post I confabulated a different use, based on my point of view. My neighbor and I both have the same cable TV from a company based 100-miles away. I have an antenna for local stations, my neighbor does notâ¦.
