Hmm.. If you are getting that far, I would think you are past the dns problem - as you managed to pull down the dongle correctly. Could this be a problem with using the very tempermental gbpvr dongle instead of the mediamvp dongle? I gave up using the gbpvr dongle as it seemed very buggy. Just a thought.

Hi, Welcome to the group,

Have you used the MVP before? Does it work with the Hauppauge software? The Hauppauge software has a dhcp server built in if I remember correctly. That should at least let you know that the MVP is working and pulling in a dongle (the program that makes it run) correctly. Then you can go to the next step of getting GBPVR to work. Honestly, most people use a router that does the dhcp serving. If you are only using a hub, then you will need some kind of dhcp server on the PC. I guess you already know this because you already have the software. Unfortunatly, I can't help with the software setup. I would at least try the Hauppauge software to eliminate all cabling and hardware issues. When you do try to use the GBPVR software, remember to stop the Hauppauge MVP services or you will not connect. Actually, you can uninstall the Hauppuage software. Also, I have heard some of the new MVP's have different dongle requirements. What version MVP do you have?
