This is my first time using XRecord. I cannot download posters. When i press Ctrl+s, it brings up the download image place. Then it tries downloading the image it says unable to connect to remote server.

Any ideas?

I don't use the plugin, but is sounds like you do not have access to the Internet. Have you changed the account that you use to run GBPVR to an account that has network/Internet access?

The XRecord plugin tries to get posters from imdb.com and also from tvtome.com which no longer exists (became tv.com).

I committed a fix on sourceforge.org for the imdb.com search which no longer worked. Jorm is the maintainer of this plugin so I don't know if his latest release includes my imdb.com fix. This bug would just silently fail to ever find any poster.

I tried using the commongbpvrutilities to get the posters from tv.com instead of tvtome.com. It worked sometimes but not very often so I didn't commit this fix.

I never saw the error "unable to connect to remote server" that you mention. This sounds like a firewall problem. The gbpvr-exe.log file may have info on the errors.

It turns out my network wasn't working at that time, but now it just doesn't do anything. It exits the Dl Image menu, then goes to the regular XRecord menu.

So there is no way to fix this?

Is there a way to manually put the image file to be able to display in XRecord.

Thanks
-Hans

Yes - either put an image in the television program's directory and name it folder.jpg, or put an image with the same name as the show into the gbpvr art directory (eg "A Touch of Frost.jpg"/png/gif etc).

cheers,

My personal build fixes the poster download from imdb.com and this fix is on sourceforge.org. Don't know if Jorm's release includes this fix yet.

I'm using 0.96.12 ie. the last .net 1.1 release. I'm waiting until after the World Cup to move to .97.x and .net 2.0. I don't want any PVR down time during the next month!

Once I move to .net 2.0 I'll submit a fix for the tv.com posters and make my build available unless Jorm does it first.
