Updating, with 97.9 in mind

Time to make a few more updates...

Gotta question I hope that subone can help with...

97.7 and 97.9 have removed the ability to change using ffmpeg and ffdshow on the mvp tab of config.

The features are still present in the config.xml though

<MVPTranscodeUseFFDSHOW>false</MVPTranscodeUseFFDSHOW>
<MVPTranscodeUsingFFmpeg>true</MVPTranscodeUsingFFmpeg>

Is it true, that if either of these entries are marked 'true', than there will be no internal transcode processing for the MVP?

I think I know that if ffmpeg is marked true, then Trans2MVP.bat is called... is this the case for ffdshow?

Can someone give an example of how you would use the ffdshow for transcoding to MVP...?

My 2 cents: My guess is that it would be used for extra filters. As a kind of add on I guess.

The <MVPTranscodeUseFFDSHOW> setting only applied if you were using (the now defunct) trans2mvp.exe for transcoding. This approach was ditched serveral releases back, when I implemented support for FFmpeg. <MVPTranscodeUsingFFmpeg> is always set to true now for new installations, but I've left the settings and logic in their because I know there is a couple of people trying to use the old trans2mvp.bat file.

The logic goes something like this when AVI playback is requested on the MVP:

    then transcode using ffmpeg      
else if <MVPTranscodeUsingFFmpeg> is false
    if trans2mvp.bat file exists
         run trans2mvp.bat
    else
         run trans2mvp.exe

trans2mvp.exe probably no longer works, and hasnt been tested in a long time.
