Variable speed playback

In the more recent versions of MediaPlayer there is a feature that allows variable speed playback of media files (View > Enhancements > Play Speed Settings). While I don't see much use of this feature for recorded tv comedies or dramas where timing is important, it's actually quite usefull for documentaries and educational programming. In fact, there is some interesting research into the benefitts of accelerated playback of educational lectures: http://www.enounce.com/docs/BYUPaper020319.pdf.

Would it be possible to implement this feature in GB-PVR? If not directly into the program, could it be done with a plugin?

yeah i would also really love to see this, sometimes you have to go out in 20 minutes, and dont have enough time to watch a 22 min show
