Just a note for MusicLibrary2 users, if you upgrade to 97.13 version of GBPVR you will need a new version of ML2 - get if from here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...tcount=146

I have have hesitated a long time before moving to this release. I was at 96.12 which was pretty stable. My only problem was playing AVI's. I wanted to resolve that first. I did not have the time for that. It was a pleasant surprise that with this release the majority of my AVI's do play rather well.
Two things to notice: 1) Do follow Sub's advice to remove all Plugins (I first forgot to do that) 2) After my initial install I could see live TV, but recordings, internet radio and a couple of other things did not work. I decided to upgrade to SQLLite, what seemed to solve my problems (don't know why). As a bonus I noticed an increase of responsiveness in switching channels on the MVP. Sub many thanks for this update that scores high on the WAF scale.

sub Wrote:One of the guys testing GB-PVR indicated he got the Hauppauge MVP screen saver after 60 seconds, and then about 60 seconds later it would turn into the GB-PVR screensaver. I suggested he set <ScreenSaverKickinSeconds>55</ScreenSaverKickinSeconds> in the config.xml file, but I never heard back whether he tried it or not. I noticed the same behaviour this morning. Changing the setting to 55 indeed brings up the GBPVR screensaver immediately. The two logos did not bother me as a matter of fact.

This would be a fine solution, if you wanted a screensaver at all. That's my frustration with the current state of things. I prefer and my wife requires, NO screensavers at all. It's not so much GBpvr, that can be turned on or off as you see fit, it's the MVP screensaver coming up with no way to get rid of it. Maybe going back to a very early dongle, like before they had a screensaver, would work.

I am presently using DONGLE3224142b.BIN (comes from the official MVP page from HP, but apparantly is still a beta). This combo makes my screen permanently visible, as it was under 96.12 with dongle.bin Hope this fixes your problem PZ

Works fine for me.
Install went smooth, upgraded. Didn't check again, but at the time the "Download" link on the main page didn't work (was pointing to an old-non-exsitsant-any-more-version).

Do you have any other software you can use to confirm the device is still in a functioning state? i installed wintv and it only showed a picture when i put it in record mode. when i just put it on the tv channel it was blank. After i tried a reboot it showed a pink screen instead of black

I'd love to update to the new version but i took such a beating last time that i wasn't going to do it again until i know that damn happaugage loge wasnt' going to pop up on us. I'll try the dongle you've suggested and see what happens. thanks.

I just double checked now, and its fine. You may be seeing a cached page. Try pressing F5. |
