Whats your video decoder set to in the config app? If its set to system default, I'd change it to explicitly select a preferred decoder.

Quote:What files do you have in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\plugins? I'd try removing the SoftwareRecoder.dll or whatever its name is. I see this one seems to be cause problems in your log.

I've got it working now - uninstalled gbpvr, deleted devnz directory and reinstalled. Looking at the file dates in the plugins folder I think I must have previously tried gbpvr last year sometime with the software encoder when I first started looking into pvrs.

Thanks for your help and pointing me in the right direction.

I when back to 96.12 and restored my old files. Everything works great. I tried to run the upgrade again and I still get the same error when trying to get into the config.exe. Everything else works fine I just can't get into the config. It is possible to go from 96.12 to 97.13 right? or do I need one of the other upgrades first (97.07? maybe)

yes it is.

When you upgrade, you shouldnt copy your old v0.96.12 gbpvr.mdb file into the new v0.97.13 directory. This is what it looks like you've done according to your log.

Hummmm... I really haven't done that... and I've tried a few time (going back to 96.12 and trying the upgrade again). Is there anything that can prevent the upgrade from modifying the database?

Nothing springs to mind, but post your logs and I'll take a look.

davisj36, have you cleared the plugins directory? It was the pictures plugin that stopped my config prog from running.
