Yes....it will require .Net 2.0 thus a modern build of GBPVR.... Smile

But from a mac, with FFox and VLC plugin, or WMV, the > button (play) still is not doing anything, so the video doesn't play.

Any idea? is this plugin written in a such a way that it is windows only compatible?

Thank you!

Yes it could very well only be windows only compatable....

I personally prefer using the external play rather than the plugins.....even now in beta testing there are sporadic issues with the plugin (VLC or Windoews Media.....but mainly when using IE....Firefox seems to be sound).

Since I am here I will post an update.....Beta testing continues....I have moved the stream to have the user select pre-defined Video, Audio, Mux settings that are known to work.

Testing showed that only a handful of options worked for people so rather than have people possibly haver problems we thought it would be best to move to forcred combos that work.....if there is something missing that should be added it can always be added in an updated release.

As of now these are the available options:

Not sure of the troubles the earlier poster was having, but part of why I have NOT upgraded to .net 2.0 is that everything I need, including the webstreamer, works just fine, using VLC and "spawn separate player" options, from within my LAN, using my 10.4.7 laptop and VLC plus all the latest VLC components for OS X.

Streaming to my work or other places ouside the LAN still doesn't work, but I think it's a firewall thing, I haven't had time to really look at it.

But the first, standalone streamer (I'm not testing the bundled beta) works fine here, MAc or PC, across my home network. So *that* version anyway was Mac-capable.

Then perhaps it should work on a Mac....I don't know since I don't use them.

Try choosing WMV/MP3/ASF for the mux settings; that might bring up the right plugins for Safari or something.. i dont use Macs but thats my guess.

For sure using an external player should work just fine as long as your player supports it.

If you are using 97.x or later of GBPVR (which you should be) you want to use the version located here.....it is a quick .Net 2.0 conversion that I posted till the EWA integrated version is available (which will be very soon).

Yes....I think that is a spotty bug in this hack version.....check to see if you have a webstreamer.xml file....that is where the settings are read from. Here is what is in the default webstreamer.xml file.....probably better off editing the xml file by hand until the integrated version is out....

Code:
<webStreamer>
    <VLCPath>C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\</VLCPath>
    <StreamingPort>1234</StreamingPort>
    <BufferSize>5000</BufferSize>
    <ProcessPriority>Normal</ProcessPriority>
    <VideoCodec>mp4v</VideoCodec>
    <AudioCodec>mp4a</AudioCodec>
    <Mux>asf</Mux>
    <Transport>http</Transport>
    <QualitySettings>
        <Setting>150k,320,213,128,32</Setting>
        <Setting>256k,320,213,224,32</Setting>
        <Setting>512k,384,320,384,96</Setting>
        <Setting>LAN,720,480,1200,192</Setting>
    </QualitySettings>
