Ok, my IR blaster is screwed. Would any of you who are not using their IR blasters be willing to help me out? I would obviously pay for shipping and all that, and if need be I would also pay for the IR blaster. I need the hauppauge one.

EDIT: I could not find any rules, so I dont know how you feel about buying on your forum. If it bothers you, just delete it, and I apologize in advance.

Have you contacted Hauppauge support? They might just send you a new one.

They will send you another one if you call them or e-mail them. FYI, you can also use an IR emitter out of an old remote that you have laying around. (come on, I know you have a drawer full of them!) I unsoldered the emitter and cut off my bad one. It works better than the Hauppauge one, although it is not nice and flat to stick on your receiver. You can also lengthen or shorten the wire while you are at it. Mine is now over 50 feet long since my PC is in another room.Mine works from almost a foot away. It is polarized so you may have to switch the wires to get it to work. It does not "blink" like the hauppauge ones do. I think they just use standard LEDs that only have a small IR band strength. The TV remotes are IR only. It was kind of fun to try just to see if I could do it. I am now using the Hauppauge one they sent me since it is easier to install.

I tried to e-mail them. They asked me a few questions 2 days later, and havent heard anything since, that was maybe 4 days ago. I guess I could call them. Thanks for the tip soccerdad, I might just try that.
