i was just wondering, i haven't seen this answered before and i don't believe there is a skin/plug-in that takes advantage of something like this, but is it possible to "inject" a single button into an existing "page" for lake of a better word, and have that button action passed to a registered plug-in? everything I've seen seems to show each plug-in handling the entirety of the functionality of that module. i was wondering if there was a way to "extend" the functionality without having to re-write the functionality for the whole plug-in. I'm sure this would be a tricky thing to do as there would probably be parameters that the "action" would need to pass... and this would take the skinning to a more generic path than it may be in it's current state. i did see some old posts about a skin engine... a "skingine" Smile but it seems that what is in place is almost like a web server in a way, except that it can be sent to the TV via an MVP.

anyway, just a crazy thought...

Actually, there is a kludgie way to do this. Take a look at the source code for BleepBloop. You have to basically monitor the Windows Event Queue and capture the key strokes before the events are sent to GBPVR. By doing this, and possibly keeping track of which plugin you are in, you might be able to add some key press functionality to the system. Now I don't know if this will work with the MVP or not, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

This doesnt really give him what he was asking for though - adding an extra to an existing plugin.

it doesn't seem like it would work from the MVP since GBPVR is resonding to that internally, there really shouldn't be any window events as such... but like sub says, i'm looking more to add onto an existing plug-in and inject a new button.
