This is something you can try, but you are correct in saying the log doesn't contain much of help.

It appears you have GB-PVR configured to use the Jet database engine. It may be this that is causing the problem as my installation is upgraded to use SQLite. You can upgrade your installation using the ChangeDatabase tool located in the GB-PVR folder (yours is "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr").

Make a backup of your entire GBPVR folder first so you can restore if something goes horribly pear-shaped.

If this fixes it please let us know.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

Hi!

Tried switching databases, transition appears to be successful. However, still get the same error with slimm. Interesting thing is that if I start slimm before GBPVR, then I get the microsoft error report dialog, when I start GBPVR and slimm stays running. If I start GBPVR first the situation is reversed. Including new log file so that you can take a look.

Thanks for the response on this.

I found this a little difficult to understand. Are you saying that Slimm runs okay if you load GB-PVR first? When you say GB-PVR, do you mean the whole application or its' own tray icon?

When you say the situation is reversed, do you mean GB-PVR crashes?

If you can run Slimm at all, can you access the Slimm menu, then Tools->Tuner Status and tell me if it is successful. If it crashes, then please load Slimm again and left-click any item in the Pending menu and tell me if that crashes.

Sorry for this trouble, and thanks for your patience.

Sorry for the confusion. When I say GBPVR, I mean the whole application. GBPVR Tray is not running.

Yes

It does run and if I leave the microsoft error message up I can access.

Tools->Tuner, Says that all is goood and it is performaing a status opperation on my tuner (Cable). One note, I have two montor setup and the the main menu appears on monitor 1 where my windows menu bar is but the tools sub-menu appears on monitor 2. All other sub menus get sent to the left of the main menu and appear on monitor 1. Just an FYI, this is something I can live with.

I can left click on pending items and get a screen which allows me to cancel. Chose not to cancel and got back to main menu. Aside from the microsoft exception, it appears to function.

No trouble at all. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. Pretty sure this will turn out to be something dumb that I am doing.

Enclosed log from latest experiments.

You enclosed the .config file but it doesn't matter, I am sure the log wouldn't help as the likely area of the crash didn't produce a logged output (*slaps head*).

Could you please try this version? With a bit of luck, this version should produce an entry in the log detailing the cause of the crash.

Hello,

Installed, ran it, but to my eye the output log looks almost identical. I double checked to make sure a new version actually installed. Included log file, hopefully you will see something that I missed.

Appreciate all the attention you are putting into this. Thank you very much.

Well, you're right there.

I don't mind saying I'm pretty baffled. What's really really odd is that you can get GB-PVR to crash.

When it does the send error message to Microsoft can you see what the details of the report are and, if so, can you copy it somehow? I don't know if that is possible and it would be quite big (a few pages of text).

Perhaps another thing, perhaps you could try temporarily disabling your custom plugins BleepBloop, LCDSmartiePlugin, and MyVideos and seeing if that makes it go away.

Um...

Found issue. I had thought that it might be MyVideos yesterday, and tried getting rid of that. No luck. Looks like it is the LCD plugin however. Works like a charm without it.

Main reason for me to install slimm was for the cli anyway (has same problem as tray with plugin installed). Wanted to use cli to drive my LCD. Murphys law would dictate that the very thing I wanted to replace would be the thing causing the problem.

Thanks for all the help and your patience with this.

Sorry, got so excited that I forgot to ask, would you still like me to try and get Microsoft report?
