Emuzed Angel II help

I have an Emuzed Angel II video card, with two tuners on it. After much research using GrphEdit, I was able to build a pair of graphs that show both tuners working on different channels. I used the information to code a direct.ini entry that works for taping or for live TV viewing, but never both at the same time. Thread with my direct.ini changes

I need to know what I should be doing with my direct.ini entry. Do I have to clone the entry and give it a new name to use the second tuner? How does GB-PVR know which entry to use when the two Angel II tuners have the same external name in GrphEdit? I can't figure out how to get GBPVR to use the internal names, which seem to be the only distinction between the tuners.

Note: this is currently a WIN-MCE computer. I can look at live video using the Media Center live TV while I am taping with GB-PVR.

You should only define the card once in direct.ini, then set up two capture sources in the config app. Configure one as device #1, the other as device #2.

Can you post the final direct.ini section so I can include it with the master file?

This is what happens when I set up one direct.ini entry use it for two devices in the config.exe:

I started taping a show on one channel. It shows up in the first of the two capture devices shown in the recording status. But when I look at the video, while it is taping, it is not the channel that I set up the recording for.

I then switch over to the live TV button. In the live TV the audio and video are missing. I can change the channels, but nothing can be seen or heard, the screen remains black.

Here is my direct.ini entry. I rearranged the entry for my own benefit so I could associate the pins in-and-out with the filters.

As I noted when I first posted my "working" version of the Angel entry, I am not sure about the I2S and 656 pins, since these are not the pin names that show up in GrphEdit. The original was cloned from the Maui III (I think).

In my config capture devices I added two devices. Both point to the [Angel II TvTuner entry], with cable input. The first entry configures the Angel as Device #1 and the second entry as Device #2.


[Edit: After rebooting the system the channel changing worked in the live video. But once I start taping, the live TV has no video and no sound, but seems to note the channel changes.]
[Edit 2] I removed one line that was causing my problems. This should be the working filter set.

Reproduce the problem with two recordings, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

You could try setting <AutoDetectEncoderMethod>1</AutoDetectEncoderMethod> in config.xml. This has helped for some users that have multiple ATI 550 Pro devices.

I hope I did the logs correctly. I set up taping for two different channels. I could only view one of them with the PLAY option while recording was going on.

I think you've still got some of those names wrong in direct.ini:

I don't see that in my direct.ini. I even went so far as to back-up the file and remove all of the other chip sets from the direct.ini. I then ran config.exe and then gbpvr. I still see those errors that you note. They happen right after the line:

Does GB-PVR assume certain pin and filter info based upon that architecture?

After my last post in this thread, I went back and removed that architecture line. The two tuners are now both working. I edited my post above. I think that is the good set for the Angel II TvTuner board.

Thanks for your help. I'll keep testing and let you know if I have any other problems. You might want to change the topic title to either "Lumanate Angel II" or "Emuzed Angel II" so that others can tell what it is. I thought it was a setup problem, not a problem with my filter definitions.

Ok, thanks. I have renamed it [Emuzed Angel II] to be more consistent. You should do the same thing at your end to make sure you card is found after the next release.
