Sub,

Re http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...tcount=163 - I've done a clean install with the PC and replaced all my leads for full scart ( all OFC & Gold Plated cables ) and even replaced my TV switch... there defo is a volume problem some wheren - for me its too quiet.

The sound files are fine ( tested on a few other devices ) and it does not seem to be affected by the dongle in use....

So any suggestions ?

Thanks

Terran

EDIT - MVP Hardware EU version - rev D3A

GB-PVR doesnt set the volume on the MVP unless you explicitly change the volume using the volume keys.

If you've tried various dongles, then I'm guessing one of them has changed the default volume settings stored in the MVP flash memory. I suspect if you went back to any previous version of GB-PVR now, the volume would be exactly the same.

Honestly, you're getting all the default audio level, just the same as any past releases. If anything has changed, I'm sure its been done by one of the dongles.

Are they the same mp3's you listened to before the re-install. Mp3'S have their own volume-level set. So they can differ quite a lot. You can change that level with e.g.: MP3-Gain. There are other programs too.

Did a bit of digging - seems to be a common prob among some MVPs - strange, some people seem to be adding hardware amps on to fix.

No real comment on how to fix nor can I understand why it did work OK before.

Just for ref yes they are the same MP3s

What about a software pre amp like in Winamp ?

Honestly, I think you're wrong. GB-PVR does not change the volume on the MVP. It just uses all the defaults.

I also have a sound issue. I checked around as well. I haven't used gbpvr for about a year, since I mainly use it for movies, not pvr. I have upgraded the software to hauppauge's newest and playback of movies has a very low volume. I have to have my tv turned all the way up to even hear it, God forbid an actor whisper. Something definately changed. I am using the same pc I always have.

Honestly, the change has not been in GB-PVR. Even if I wanted to, I cant think of a way to change the default volume level on the MVP.

I'm guessing something in one of the dongles has changed a default volume level or something similar.

I ran into something the other day when I turned on one of my MVP's the volume was way low to where it was maybe 10% of normal even though it's volume was set the same. I was able to fix it by rebooting the mvp by unplugging it and letting it reload the dongle and all was back to normal. If this is what others are seeing then I would consider this a dongle and or hardware problem with the MVP itself and not 97.13. First time I had seen it and I have had 97.13 on here since the release.

I have two D3A MVP's
