Mvandere,
as I am trying to port this to vb.net, I wonder if you could publish the sourcecode for your changes?

sub Wrote:Unfortunately it's a VB app, so no chance of directly porting it, but there is no reason the same sort of app couldnt be written as a plugin XBMC or as a stand alone XBOX app. I had considered doing the same thing myself in the past, but I've since sold my XBOX, so it isnt a task I'll be taking on.
MMMmmm... shame. Not sure if its any intrest but I did hear that the next version of XBMC will have Lynx built in ( the web browser for any one that does not know ) - I wonder if that comes out if an adaptation of your web interface may be the way forward there ?

In the mean time thanks for your response Sub Wink

Hey mvandere,

That .zip you posted is only 54.1 kb's big; that just doesn't seem right. When I try to open it Xp says that the zip is corrupted or invalid. Is this a problem on my end?

Btw, thanks a bunch for your contribution to this project. It's surely going to make a lot of people very happy.

It turns out that it was a problem on my end; Internet Exploder doesn't like downloads from the GBPVR server for some reason. Use Firefox instead.

It also took me a few minutes to realize that the contents had to go with the existing "mvpviewer_source" files. Anyways, now it works quite well! All that's needed is mouse/remote control support and resizability. (I would help if I could...)

Thanks again for your contribution,
HTPCGB

P.S. Maybe we should start a new thread (e.g. MVP PC Client) so we can get more people testing this thing.

Just a nudge to see how this is going. On my computer the video will play for 5-10 minutes and then it dies.... Also, the latest version "checkpoint" just gives me a black screen instead of video.

Here is a link to an mplayer gui written in .NET.

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles..._id=120333

Not sure if that will help in a port, but I would have to think it would provide a good starting place since mplayer appears to be a key part of this project.

I probably won't have time to play with this until around Halloween, but I may take a look at a port at that time.

Th guys at http://www.loggytronic.com/vomp.php have built a new mvp client dongle that runs on the MVP and interracts with VDR.

They have also built a version that runs on Windows, but they seem to be stuck at the licensing stage:
http://www.loggytronic.com/forum/index.php?topic=151.0

I don't even know if it would work with GBPVR as is, but perhaps sub could make some subtle changes to make it work or something

It seems to imply that the source is available in the cvs now (see this post):

I'm not a c++ guy but it might be worth investigating for someone who is

HI all

As i started this thread to help develop the MVP Client does all those who are trying to write the client want me to ask SUB to get your own little SUB Develop forum called "MVP Software Client" so you can have your own area and threads for items like development and testing so its not all in the same message thread?

Leave a message here and will go form there.

Many Thanks

Could you elaborate on what your client is all about.
