However, getting the one that is called Version 2a on the Wiki is tricky. Most of the places I see the picture of the Version 2, which has less buttons (as I use almost every single button of my 45 Hauppauge, I want buttons! lots of buttons!).

I think it depends which part of the world you're in. The Version 2 is used in US/Canada. Version 2a in the rest of the world.

The main reason for this is the coloured buttons are used for teletext and digital interactive features in these parts.

aha - good to know. In that case, I better buy it in Europe then (that is, if I go with the MCE remote). What I wouldnt do for another 4 buttons...
