I've just remotely taken a look at unsword's machine, and we mostly had it working with the original patch, but found we needed a further patch to correct an audio problem. This can be had from http://www.gbpvr.com/NativeUtilities.zip. I've updated the original patch download (http://www.gbpvr.com/atsc-scan.zip) to include this updated file.

I think he is going to run through some more tests and let me know.

Sub made some real progress on this - no longer seem to have the 6kb recordings issue and the ATSC channel scanning looks like its working. Had a problem of occasional stutter when playing back recordings when testing with Sub but I believe that was beacuse the GoToMeeting software was sucking up CPU and causing it to hit 100%.

Right now I'm going to run a few recordings to make sure everythings OK. Particularly want to check on the audio to make sure the correct audio PID and audio format are being used for recordings.

Looks like there's still an issue of getting the correct PIDS

I made a few quick recordings on several different ATSC channels here in Atlanta, results were

CH 2 WSB - No video or audio
CH 5 WAGA - Good video and audio
CH 11 - WXIA - Good video and audio
CH 17 - WTBS - Good video, SAP audio (secondary audio program [spanish])
CH 36 - WATL - cant play the video, but can scroll thru it with WMPlayer
CH 46 - OK

The CH 36 recording was interesting, I was watching the destination folder while the recording started up, initially the file was 6kb, but then suddenly showed as 195MB. This contrasts with all other good recordings where the initial file size is 97MB.

Be curious to see what results others are having

My logs are attached

Cheers for the good feedback.

Do you know if you have any tools that will show you what the PIDs are? Maybe the software that came with your card? I'd be interested to compare with the PIDs that GB-PVR found for those problem channels.

Ok.

If it picks up absolutely no channels, it may be worth trying to run the ReRegisterFilters.bat file to see if that corrects the issue.

Sub,

Spoke too soon. After I had done the repair (last night), I can still watch and record directly from TV Guide. When I do a schedule (did one over night), I am back to the 6 kB files size. I just did another direct record (not scheduled) from TV guide and it worked again.

I will try again with your new patch and method and let you know.

Patches won't download. IE just sits there.
