The patch from #13 still had the audio issues. When I run the new patch, the config app locks up and take up all CPU durung scanning.
Logs are attached.

ok, I'll take another look remotely at a machine tomorrow.

Applied latest patches and scan works more or less than before. I can tell it sees the channels. I looked in the log to see what channels it picked up, and its really inaccurate. The channels it should be picking up are 30,35,42,48,and 58.
I'm wondering if its a problem with the broadcaster not properly broadcasting the correct PID's. Ill look into it more. I thought I had read something like that before. Wait, nevermind I was getting PID confused with the broadcasters sending the EPG, like they're supposed to be doing.

Sub,
I installed the new PSI parser and config then rescanned. Config.exe log attached. What I see is that some channels were correctly identified and tuning requests added but others did not have tuning requests added. Here's the breakdown of my scan so you can compare against previous logs - all channel numbers are the actual RF numbers which you reference as transponder. CH 10 - OK - Tuning requests for both programs correctly added CH 19 - No tuning request added (this has one program but its using program #3 with one audio) CH 20 - No tuning request added (this has one program but its using program #3 with two audios) CH 21 - No tuning request added (this has one program but its using program #3 with one audio) CH 25 - No tuning request added (this has one program but its using program #3 with two audios) CH 27 - OK - Tuning requests for both programs correctly added (uses programs #3 and #4) CH 39 - OK - Tuning requests for both programs correctly added (uses programs #1 and #2) CH 42 - Looks like it barfed on this one. BTW this is a low power station I just discovered, interestingly it has an AC3 and MPEG2 audio PID listed. See the attached channel data from the stream analyzer. CH 43 - OK - Tuning request added (uses program #1) CH 44 - No tuning requests added. (this has 5 programs using #3 thru #7) CH 48 - Tuning requests added for only the first program (but with each different Audio PID). Looking at the stream analyzer there are two AC3 PIDs per program (all spanish). CH 51 - No tuning requests added (this has four programs - #3 thru #6) Logs and channel data attached. I'm now going to delete and recreate the source and re-scan to see if the results are any different.

Basically the same results - except this time it didn't barf on CH 42
What I did find however that while the log indicates two tuning requests for CH 39 9/17/2006 10:21:11 AM.203 VERBOSE [1] Adding tuning request: 39,2,1~P:1~V:49~A:52~PMT:48~N:>WSB-DT (eng) 9/17/2006 10:21:11 AM.203 VERBOSE [1] Adding tuning request: 39,2,2~P:2~V:65~A:68~PMT:64~N:>WSB-DT (eng) The drop down in the mapping dialog box still only inserts the second program whichever of the two instances of WSB-DT you select. log attached again

unsword, can I remotely connect to your machine a little later to take a look?

ok, for those ATSC users following this, there is another test patch at http://www.gbpvr.com/atsc-scan3.zip
I've remotely tested this on a couple of machines so far with promising results.

Removed my previous ATSC source and added a new one. Then scanned for available channels. All were found except one which I know doesn't transmit it's name correctly - although previously this was found but listed as 'unknown' and now it doesn't show in the list of stations found.
The language selections being shown as well as the terrestrial channel 'names' makes the channel mapping activity much more intuitive than it used to be. Knowing the PIDs required etc I was able to manually enter the tuning request for the channel which wasn't reported in the scan. I spot checked all the channels via the program guide and all appear to have the correct video and audio - with no garbled audio. I'm in the process of making a set of short recordings to verify all is good. Will post the results shortly. Anybody else tried the latest patches ?

Cheers for the feedback.
If you get a chance, can you post a screenshot of the config app after the scan so that users can see the channel name, major/minor, lang that is now shown in the config app? |
