I've just started tinkering with GB-PVR and for the most part everything is working 100% A1 supergood. The only exception is that I am experiencing pixelation of the OSD when viewing video. The OSD looks much like in this picture which I yoinked from another thread:

Except I'm not using east asian fonts.

Worth noting that I am doing this on a woefully under spec'd machine, particularly in the video department (Savage MX 8MB) and it may well be a bridge too far for the old dear. If so, no drama's as it is bearable but if there is a way to resolve this, even better.

This often happens with the Overlay video renderer. It needs resize any graphics to match the video resolution before displaying it. This means that if you watch a low resolution video, you get low resolution OSD.

VMR does not suffer from this same limitation.

Cheers for the quick reply, unfortunately I don't get any OSD with any of the VMR options (presumably due to the afforementioned dire graphics card situation). It's in a laptop so I can't swap it. Looks like I'll have to cope with it as is. It's eminently readable and has a bit of a retro commodore 64 vibe going for it so that's all good. Thanks again.

Yes, quite likely. Though I should point out that trying use the Cyberlink decoder with VMR can also result in no OSD - in case thats the only decoder you've tried.

Yeah, sorry - this isnt something in my control. You'd have to ask Microsoft about that one...
