I've just downloaded the software and it looks good. Unfortunately, it looks like my install will not be an easy one. My card (FlyDVB-T Hybrid mini) doesn't seem to be listed in the Tuning Assistant. Looking at the wiki, it's clear that adding the card is not very straight forward. I've tried several PVR systems today, and all of them seem to automatically pick the TV card up. Having to pick it yourself or even having to add it yourself (editing ini files and such) seems a real step backward. There's probably a very good reason for this so please enlighten this noob!!

Its actually pretty straight forward setting up cards that are supported by GB-PVR.

It does automatically detect each compatible device found in your machine when you tick 'only show devices detected in this machine' check box. Your problem was that you tried it with a device that is not supported by GB-PVR (FlyDVB-T Hybrid mini lacks the hardware MPEG2 decoder on the analog side)

It doesnt automatically add all the devices for use in GB-PVR, because you may not want to user every capture device in your machine with GB-PVR, and because you need to specify which card has which EPG source, which is something no app could automatically determine (while retaining the ability to have different channel lineups for each device).

Thanks so much for the quick response. I'm still totally lost and am having a hard time figuring out such a complex system! Unfortunately, I've got to rush out now but will post on the appropriate forum later. :o
