I'm looking for suggestions for a good quality analog TV card, not made by Hauppauge. I'll explain a bit below.

My wife would like to be able to watch TV while using her computer, not such an odd request in this group. Smile

I had a Hauppauge USB box that worked just fine but, since Hauppauge uses the same remote for everything when she was changing channels on her little TV screen, she was also changing things on the MVP. There is an IR port in her room that controls the MVP in the equipment room if she's watching the MVP on the standard TV.

So i guess what I'm looking for is a good quality TV that's not Hauppauge, so it won't interfere with the MVP. Being compatible with GBpvr is a plus as at some point if this experiment works well i can get rid of the standard TV in that room. It starts to get messy looking with multiple screens around.

Any recommendations?

I just noticed this ATI card the other day actually. The wiki lists it as compatible:

http://slickdeals.net/?permadeal=8204#direct_deal_8204

Although it will handle a digital signal, it also does analog TV. Reviews on newegg for the product generally say the card itself does a nice job but the included software isn't so good. If you're using GBPVR, the software problem is a non-issue.

I have tried the ATI card. I did finally get it to work but it was not an easy setup and after all was said and done the picture was on the fuzzy side. I never was able to clear that up, so i'm still on the hunt.

I'm considering just that at the moment. So far of the cards i've tried the happauge cards have had the nicest picture. the next best was kworld card. I tried one with the phillips chips in it, i forget which but that one was terrible and wasn't even worth cracking the case open for. Sad
