Hello All,

I just installed a PVR 500 MCE with gbpvr, all is working perfectly. I have a question though. This card has dual tv tuners. I've setup on tv tuner as PVR1. Now do I setup the other one as PVR2. Will that work? So far I haven't been able to watch a show and record at the same time. I know that having the 2 tuners you are able to do the above.

You need to create two capture sources. Set one as device #1, the other as device #2.

thanks for your reply. Last night I've done that. However, I have a few problems and questions.

Problems:
1. Any channel above 99 doesn't work. All I get is static and or static sounds from some of the channels.

2. No sound in DVDs.(DVDs will work in other apps)

3. FM Tuner doesn't work. Scans but doesn't pick up any stations.(Antenna is connect to the correct port)

Questions:
1.2 capture sources have been made. Now I have 2 shows for GB to record at the same time on different channels coming up on the 10/31. Only 1 capture source has is physically connected to coax. Does both of them have to be physically connected to the same source? If so, how is that done?

2. How do I know what capture source is doing what?

thanks,

Its likely that your cable company only broadcasts 2-99 in the normal analog way, and everything above that is either digital cable or scrambled analog. There isnt really much you can do about this, other than connecting your cable box to your capture card via the composite/svideo connectors and adding an IR Blaster so GB-PVR can change channels on the cable box when it needs to.

Try a different audio decoder.

Two things to be aware of:

1) only one of the two tuners on the PVR500 supports FM. So try setting one of your capture sources as a PVR500, the other as a PVR500 with FM. If it doesnt work, you may need to swap them (its not always tuner #1, it can be tuner #2).

2) The hauppauge drivers currently only implement the signal strength check in the drivers of some of its PVR250/350 cards, so you'll find that the scan wont for you. You'll need to manually add the stations you want to listen to rather than scanning for them.

There is an internal cable splitter in the card, so the coax is feed to both tuners.

It doesnt tell you in advance, but while the recordings are taking place you can look at the status window in the tray app.
