System sounds work - but not recordings or live tv

How do I set up my channels to use numbers instead of frequencies? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Good news...switched from external to internal volume, and now I've got sound. Not sure what the deal was, but it works great. Thanks for all the suggetions and most of all GB PVR!
