I just tried this plugin. You've done great job. Its really good. I've added it to my HTPC.

thats the best compliment a plugin developer could get. if sub likes it, it must be good .
i thought i might be trying to make gbpvr to much like xbmc or well all the other media centers (using same interface setup, i just thought it was a solid one, and i could improve on the short commings (well what i thought were short commings) of those interfaces). im so glad sub likes it (i feel like a goober for writing that, oh well).

now to huckw, um it shouldnt matter if you dont have a dvd drive, you could just point this to a cd drive, or hdd or anything, and it will just fail each time you try to play a dvd or copy a dvd. when it fails it will just spit out a popup box, within the plugin, asking you to insert a dvd. so thats no reason for it not to work. i cant think of any reason for it not show up in the actual config app, given you have the latest version, can you just pm me your log files, ill see if i can figure out whats going wrong.
i really have no clue why its not showing up, never happened to me. what build of gbpvr are you using? (ive tested it with 0.214, 0.227, 0.238, 0.2310) and they all worked (well first versions did with 0.214/0.227 latests work with new versions (chances are those older builds aswell)).

Not sure how easy this would be to do. But I would love it if it could pick random photos buried within sub folder. I keep all of my photos in folders and would love the random photo option!

I was using it last night while playing music which I started in music library. Is there a way to make sure that when the top button is pushed while in My Pictures that it doesn't stop the music?

err im not sure about the stop button, not stopping audio, never really thought about that, but there are other escape keys to get out of fullscreen/slideshow mode, just use back or menu (menu might return you to the main menu thou, i cant remember off hand, but back/exit will exit fs/ss mode).

i was thinking about doing a random thingy, wasnt going to do subfolders thou, but yeah sure why not. it might take a few seconds longer to load thou, id have to doing a recursive directory search when you choose that option the first time (it wud be silly to load it every time my pics loaded incase you dont use it, shouldnt take that long thou, ill play around with the code).

ill make it search every subdirectory (even sub sub directories, sub sub sub directories, you get the idea) in the current location (if in root, this will go thru all of them, i probably wouldnt recommend doing it in virtual root if you have lots and lots of pics, unless you got fast pc and crap load of ram) ill start playing around with the code for that tomorrow, shouldnt take to long to implement.

oh and anyone using an mce remote or different one (with color buttons (nonhauppauge)) can you test the buttons in fullscreen to make sure they make sense and arent mixed up, since i think on the mce remote the color buttons are in a row and i *might* have it like rotate clockwise|zoom in|rotate anti|zoom out (or something like that).

ok ive added the random feature. it will do a recursive search of all directories for image files. it may take awhile (my machine celeron d 330 (2.6mhz) took 10 seconds to find 15600 and less than a second to find 1200 images, so its not that bad (15600 is a lot of images)). you cant manually navigate thru the random slideshow if you pause it thou since there is no memory of previously displayed images. you can pause it, once paused zoom/rotate. and if you exit it you wont have to rebuild the image list, but if you exit and change directory you will have to rebuild it (i cant keep the lists in memory, that would require to much memory, so have to dispose them once a directory is changed, sorry. but a couple of seconds to build on average a image list isnt that bad).

find any bugs, have any suggestions, wishes, just say ill try and accommodate. but if you have any complaints, piss off

yup the wiki is where i will always release the latest updates.
if theres anything, err logical UI thingy that you dont like or think could be improved, dont be afraid to ask, your the person who requested this feature so youre the person im trying to cater this too.  my reasoning for that is i dont use this, i dont know what the perfect solution is to it.
i made it so when you exit the random slideshow thou it return you to your previous position, it doesnt exit you to the last displayed image (since that could be in a different directory, and clicking random again would only show images in that dir). im going to make possible to pause a random slideshow and go forward (next random image) but still not planning on go reverse.) maybe back one image (the last image is stored in a buffer)

oh and also the random is on all images it doesnt do it on folders, ie if there are 3 folders in the current directory it doesnt 1/3 of time show pictures from 1 and 1/3 from another. it will do a random image from the total number of images found. so one dir has 99 images, and another dir has 1 image, on average the dir with 99 images should be displayed 99% of the time. and if anyone is wondering (uni lecturers always go on about this, and some really nerds go on about this) the random number is an actual random number, its based on the clocktime (Random random = new Random(system.currenttime.ticks))

ok newest version, you can go back one image in random mode when you pause it.  and can manually goto a next random image when paused aswell, every other feature works when paused just like when in normal fullscreen mode.

also i made it translatable, so all if you dont speak english, or well english as first language. you can change ever piece of text in the language.xml file. heres what you need to do it
