Hi All,

First of all forgive me because I feel the solution to this must be straight forward...

I have just upgraded my two PVR250 analog cards to a WinTv-Nova-T-500 digital TV card, I searched the forum and found the necessary bit to go in the BDA.INI file. All installed fine and worked!

But I'm confussed by the format of the recorded files, the Hauppauge utility records in mpeg2 but GBPVR is producing dvr-ms files (which my MVP doesn't like much). Trawling various threads I believe that I need a mux setting up but I'm not sure where to get it or why the Hauppauge installation hasn't already added it for me (after all it's saving in mpeg format).

Any help for this digital newbie would be well received...

It depends on the mux you're using. Since its recording .dvr-ms file, then you're using the Microsoft DVR-MS mux.

If you install the ATI or Cyberlink mux, and select this as the preferred BDA mux in the config app, then it'll record .mpg files. To find a download location, use the forum search (sorry, I'm sick to death of people asking me this).

The Hauppauge mux is not usable by third party apps because of the way they have written it.
