sub Wrote:You can tell which card did the recording by looking at the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log file. It has a log message with something like:

ConexantRecorder::StartRecording(1, 64, 12, 1)

The first number is the device number, so you should see either "1" or "2".

Could be. It might also be a driver thing with not coping well with a specific combination of two different versions of the PVR150. You can run the Hauppauge ProdInfo utility to find out what tuner etc is on your PVR150s. Though even armed with this info, I'm not sure what you could do other than trying some other driver versions.

Thanks...i'm gonna take a look and see if it looks like 1 card might be the problem. Is that utility on hauppauge's web site. Also, do you know if they have firmware updates....maybe i could get both these cards on the same firmware of something?

Do a recording, then zip and attach a GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Here's the attachment. I've done 3 recordings since shutting off comskip...and they seem to be better. Strange thing though....looks like 1 of my pvr cards is still having comskip files created for it. How is that possible, since setting commerical detection to none should be a universal setting?

lol...for some reason, i have more than one log file named that way, sorry about that. Anything in the logs showing why i am still getting comskip files for certain recordings even though it's turned off? (or anything that strikes you as wrong, for that matter)

Edit: also, i notcie the audio firmware version is different for my 2 cards? could that cause a problem?

You'd have to set the logging level back to debug for me to tell this. My guess is you're running comskip from a PostProcessing.bat file? This batch file will always be run at the end of recording.

The only way i have ever known to run it is through the option under the 'post processing' tab in config. I never manually edited anything. Plus, it seems to only be running for like every other recording....or maybe just for one pvr card and not the other. On the second note, i'm going to contact hauppauge about the firmware questions and see if they have any idea's on it.

p.s. thanks for looking through all this for me, i know you stay busy.

ok, reset the logging level back to 'debug', then reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs again.

gotcha. Also, i'm looking back through recordings and i'm starting to notice this audio sync problem does seem to be limited to 1 pvr-150, as far as i can tell....and it looks like it's the new card. I'm looking through a recording that just finished about 30 minutes ago, and towards the end of the hour long recording...the voice and video is getting worse on sync...although i haven't seen any frame dropping (which might mean that the video problem is cpu related to comskip...and the uadio sync is related to this new pvr-150 card, fighting 2 seperate issues at once.) The log lvl setting is in the config.exe i'm assuming...least i think it is. I'll change that over, let it record some more shows, find out which ones come out with problems, then attach the logs and give you the info on the shows. Thanks again, i really am amazed by the amount (and speed) of help i get on here....and not just from you.
