Hi,

I could not find a "search" button in this forum, so it is possible, taht I have a wish which was mentioned many times before!

My X-Mas wish is:

Please make it possible for the recording timer to write the boot time to the NVRAM so that I can shut down my computer...

Good job, sub!

search is at the very top of the screen on the right. in the black line with the gbpvr logo in it.
"HOME SEARCH MEMEBERS HELP"

everyone misses that. i did. sub cant change it.

to your question, i have no idea. just telling you were to search, maybe you'll find the answer

But I guess sub can change the colors...

Thanx!

sub, just a very short reply please. Do I have a chance for this feature? We all must save electrical power...

I'm not sure if you're asking for something subtily different (because of the reference to NVRAM), but GB-PVR will already automatically wake a machine from hibernation/standby to perform recordings.

PS, The forums software is a big fragile, and if I try to change the colors using the supplied skinning/admin pages it causes all sorts of problems. I'm hoping the next version of the forum software will correct the issue.

Hm,

sorry, english is not my native language. I will try to explain what I mean:

Many Computer BIOS' support the possibility to wake up the computer on a specific date and time. Even if it is completely shut down. Turned off...

GB-PVR could write the wake up time to the non volatile ram of the computers bios.

The benefits are: saving money by saving power. Even Standby will consume power. Hibernation sometimes makes trouble. Another benefit: Many computers will still spin the fan in the power supply, making noise...

Thanx
Marius

narkuma,
This was also my idea, at first. And with my system (see sig) it does work every now and then. But, because it did not wake always, I've changed to hibernation. With the new drivers for hte hauppauge pvr 350 it works great. In hibernation there are, in my case, no fans running, power consumption is virtually zero and waking is a lot faster as well.

hm, hibernation seems to be great. but in many cases it leads to unstable conditions. whenever i used hibernation, there were problems. on many computers.

on my actual pvr computer (with pvr350), wake uo is no problem. gb-pvr will record. fine.
but after recording, my pc will hibernate again and is unstartable afterwards. i have to interrupt boot and make a cold start...
strange but true. and i am sure i am not alone...

just so we are clear (i found quite a few people get this wrong) you are pressing the power button to come out of hibernation right? many people try and use the mouse/keyboard like they do when turning a screensaver off.
