Small live TV preview in TV guide screen

Just curious, I got the small screen on the guide to work, but cant seem to get it to size on MVP. I've moved things around a bit using my PC and local GBPVR to test, but when I go pull it up on the MVP, the screen is like 30 percent larger and overlaps. Changing the size does not seem to effect it on MVP. I can position it though, so I can see it's taking some of my XML changes.

When you're designing a skin, or changing one to include the inset window, you need to be aware that the MVP can only display video either fullscreen, half screen or quarter screen sizes, so you should adjust things so that the inset window is close to one of these sizes to make sure the user can see the entire screen.

If you have some of the picture missing, then you need to make the inset window size slightly bigger.

I'm having the same issue where the Live Preview doesn't display on the Guide. I've set the "Use Inset" option to true, I've set up the Element in the skin XML, I've tried changing the LOC and SIZE and I still can't see anything.

My setup is:
-ATI Theater 550 Pro
-NVidia 6600gt
-WinXP

I'd really like to figure this out. It sounds like a neat feature.

Do you see the little video in any of the other menus (main, recordings, search, video library, etc) ?

Are you pressing "Home" key or remote equivilent while watching Live TV to get back to the Main menu, then go to the TV Guide?

Silly me. Having the worst cold of my life, my brain is mush, and so had forgotten that one actually has to be watching live TV to get a window in the other screens...DUH!

I've edited the inset 2 different ways.

Here's a larger window in the right center of the guide, more viewable, but does block the second hour of show guide.

Here's a tiny window in the lower right, so it doesn't interfere with any of the onscreen print.

You can adjust things as you want them. This is for a 7 channel tv guide, yours may be different.
In the "loc="535,371" line, the 535 is how far across the screen it is, from the left side, and the 371 is how far down the screen it is, from the top. Simply adjust the coordinates for the top left point then size as needed.

So you want to see the above, but it can be done already! I just do it above the Guide instead.

Thanks Tipster. I've been working extremely hard the last year, and finally made it to a managment position, which gives me much more free time.
I'll be posting more in the new year, and maybe even try some more skinning.
