No problem. I included this in version 1.2 and uploaded it in the first post.

I just downloaded this and would really like to get it to work.

I want it to send a text message to my phone as I only get email while at home.
(the phone has an email address)
can I delete the "subject" line in message.txt or should I leave the line but leave the subject blank??
does the "from" line have to be an email address?? or can I make it from "GBPVR Server"??

you mention a .dll file in an earlier post, but I did not find one in the .zip

I keep getting an error.
Quote:Unhandled Exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'smtp, Version=1.0.2505.17835, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
The system cannot find the file specified.File name: 'smtp, Version=1.0.2505.17835, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' at disklimit.MainClass.Main(String[] args)

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

ALSO--
I DO NOT have an email client of any kind loaded onto this machine.
this machine is only used as a GBPVR server and a web server.

do I need to install outlook express on here to get it to work??

Here's the smtp.dll. You have to put it in the same directory as the .exe

Edit: --removed smtp.dll-- please download the new version of disklimit (see first post) that doesn't require smtp.dll

If you don't want a subject in the subject-line, i think you should leave it blank. You could try what happens if you remove it (i don't know). The from-address should be a valid emailaddress i guess. You could try what happens if there's no valid address (i don't know)

I love the idea. I would like to use it, but for that, I will need some help:
Can you support SMTP authentication as well? e.g.:
Code:
[-user <user> -password <password>]
and while at it... support ports?
Code:
[-port <port_num>]
Many ISPs these days require those (authentication, and many times using a non standard SMTP port). Part of the nice contribution of SPAMers...

The SMTP.dll i'm currently using doesn't support authentication nor port. But i can have a look at using another smtp-class that does support it. Please check this forum again in a week or so...

adding the .dll worked like a champ!!!

notes--
"from" line does not have to be there for the email to be sent, but the text message on the phone freaks out without it.
if it is there, it MUST be a valid email address.
(or at least have a valid domain name)

deleting the subject line entirely worked just fine.

I even have 2 different message files.
one for GBPVR recordings drive, and one for the drive for the website.
(a few of the shows are automatically transcoded and posted on the website)

Below the new version of disklimit:

In this version you don't need smtp.dll anymore, and you can set the port, username and password for SMTP-authentication, message-with-auth.txt for an example how to use it.

I have not been able to test SMTP-authentication myself. If it is not working, please let me know
